    Sharp and compact

    Extremely sharp (except the extreme corners wide open) at all apertures and very compact. Without the lens hood, this lens makes the Leica M fit in most jacket pockets

    Excellent Leica M Wide Angle Lens - Does Not Disappoint!

    This Leica M 28mm f/2.8 Asph MF lens is super sharp, excellent contrast and color, light weight, and easy to focus with the small lens hood. This lens will exceed your expectations for landscape, travel, photojournalism and street photography. This lens is razor sharp from f/2.8 and gets even better down to f/8. Even at f/11 to f/16 this lens does excellent. I have found there is no issue with flare, coma, no visible distortion and very minimal vignetting. It is almost as good at the Leica M 28mm f/2.0 Summicron but at half the price. If you find your needing a wide angle for the aforementioned types of photography, this lens will not disappoint you in the least.

    Perfect addition to the 50 cron

    This is true Leica product - compact, sharp and well built. 28 mm makes it compatible with the viewfinder lines on M9, compact size makes it perfect travel companion, and optical characteristics leave no upside potential for other comparable lenses. And 2.8 is more than enough for digital m9. Highly recommended if you look for a wide angle addition to your base 50 mm lens. I would only trought away the huge lens hood, it kills the whole idea of having compact professional system

    Leica 28/2.8 Asp

    Lens is well built but lacks the expensive feel of older Mandler optics. The physical length of the lens is a tad shorter than a 40mm Cron; very small. The rectangular hood arrangement is similar to current lenses and comes with a rectangular soft rubber cap. Viewing thruogh the finder the lens and hood cover the bottom 15% of the finder. Not a real issue.

    Leica Elmarit-M 28 ASPH lens

    Great lens, very sharp, small and beautiful. Handles great with tab for focussing. Build quality does not get any better. I have several leica lenses and they are all incredible. This one is new technology, but the 40 year old ones are spectacular as well.
