Take control of the title character or her little raccoon friend, Meeko, in this adventure based on Pocahontas, the Disney animated film from 1995. Pocahontas must learn the nine special animal spirits as she ventures out into the wilderness to prevent a war between her Powhatan tribe and the English settlers. The game is separated into three acts and takes place in the forest, at the long house of Chief Powhatan, at an English settlement, inside a ship, and in various natural Virginian surroundings. <br><br>When the game begins, Pocahontas can walk, climb, short jump and push objects, while Meeko can run, climb trees, jump, jump into Pocahontas' arms, push small objects and tread water. In order to gain special powers (such as night vision, swimming and sprinting), Pocahontas, with the help of Meeko, must free nine animal friends from various predicaments. Switch between the pair at any time and use each character's strengths to figure out how to reach the end of the level.<br><br>Various puzzles appear throughout each level as you explore your surroundings. For example, you cannot simply enter the front door of the long house, so you must find another way in. Ledges sometimes appear to be out of reach and some objects seem impossible to move. These and other puzzles await your gaming expertise. Players can resume progress by entering passwords awarded at the end of each level, and cinematic cut-scenes help further the story as the characters advance through the game.

My favorite childhood game
I’m so glad I finally got this game. It was always my favorite as a kid, but we always just rented it from blockbuster, never purchased it. I regretted not buying it back then, but I’m so glad it’s part of my collection now. I just played it all night last week and it’s just as fun as I remember.

I really like this game. It was entertaining for me (an adult) and for my 9 year old child. It is challenging enough to make you think but kids can figure it out too. You are Pocahontas traveling through the wilderness with her sidekick racoon Meeko who helps you in your obstacles. Pocahontas is trying to stop a war from happening but before she can do that she is faced with 65 exciting challenges (like freeing a trapped deer & helping a baby bear down out of a tree). Everytime she saves an animal she receives a magical power that will help aid her in her journeys. She runs through the forest, leaps, swims, and soars through the beautiful although sometimes tough terrain and indian village. The game is filled with great graphics and soothing music. very entertaining and will take ... I really like this game. It was entertaining for me (an adult) and for my 9 year old child. Collecting the power of the spirit animals, you travel to great lengths to find out more about the strangers to your home. While some of the commands are a little difficult, and there are parts you blame Pocahontas for all your troubles, the many playing field, such as diving through the water, and the switching between her and Meeko make it easier to handle the lesser issues with the game. The passwords you are given so you can go to a level you better prefer is rather nice as well. This is a really fun blast from the past! It was fun to play this game again as it was a game I really enjoyed playing with my best friend when we were little. I was glad to find it on Ebay after a long search for the game. Sega Genesis games are harder to find nowadays. The only thing I was disappointed about was that it didn't take me nearly as long to beat as I remembered... but I just played it again =) Great game, really fun. Will bring back lots of good memories if you enjoyed it in the past.This is a really fun blast from the past!
