About this product

Product Information

Takashi Okazaki's brutal anti-hero hacks and slashes for Justice on HD consoles. Afro Samurai is a man driven by revenge, stopping at nothing in his quest to slay the one who murdered his father and then claim the Number One headband as his own, with all the glory and power it bestows. Players take the role of Afro to battle through scenes of swordplay and special effects, in a flowing, third-person action style. The look of the game resembles a finely drawn cartoon, with detailed, outlined characters against backdrops that give the appearance of a watercolor and ink painting. The game is based directly on the animé adventures of the vengeful swordsman. It features the voice of Samuel L. Jackson as Afro and an original, hip-hop soundtrack composed by The RZA.

Wish it would've shipped in a bubble envelope instead of a paper one, but it arrived as described at a very low price, so I can't really complain. A+ Seller. Cheers!

Top Ebayer! A++++++ Exactly as described, nicely packaged, good price and arrived quickly. (if you see 3 items with similar reviews of mine for this seller, that's because I ordered 3 things on the same day from this seller and they were all excellent!) Thanks!!

  • a game to buy....

I have to admit that this game was a bit of a shocker-- it hits hard and fast. There, I confessed. Love the graphics, the story, the content is hilarious, I never expected this thing to work but it's probably going to be one of the must-have-yet-flying-under-the-radar games of the year. I haven't seen it featured in any of the popular gaming mags, probably because it's based on a show and was considered to be a way of cashing in on an existing brand. Oh well, their mistake. Instant cult classic, and yes the gameplay suffers somewhat because of the tripped out camera; however, this is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Games like Tomb Raider Underworld have shown us just how bad whacked-out camera controls really can be, and this game doesn't come anywhere close to being that bad. ...

  • Afro Samurai

I've read many reviews about this game before i eventually purchased it. Reading those review is what caused the hesitation of buying this game. Finally after giving in on behalf of major love for the cartoon, Sam Jackson and the RZA, I really dig thise game. It's raelly like a dynsty warriors meets the afro samurai cartoon. Pretty good mix for me. I being a good fan of the dynasty warriors franchise. The gameply control wise is fairly cool. Graphics are cool, probably way better on a big screen and music is fantastic. Actually the only bad note I would mention is maybe the camera angles, They are not bad, but they can be a pain at times. I guess i would describe it as a fun and entertaining game. I got mine for $20.

  • Afro Samurai PS3

If I wasn't reviewing Afro Samurai, fighting Brother 6 would have been the point where I threw the controller at the floor, screamed an obscenity, and sold the game back to GameStop. Packing a flamethrower and three separate phases to the fight, Brother 6's battle is the exact moment when Afro Samurai's super-slick visuals, awesome soundtrack, and fuzzy feeling you get from slicing bad guys in half stopped mattering to me and every one of the game's numerous flaws came together to derail the experience. That sucks because Afro Samurai can actually be a lot of fun at times. The story told in Afro Samurai isn't a sequel to the popular anime but more of a re-imagining of the origin we all know and love. As a child, Afro witnesses the murder of his father -- a ...

  • Afro Samurai (PS3)

Even if you haven't seen the anime, if you enjoy sword play type games with an intriguing story this is the game for you! Afro Samurai is all about facing off against large groups of enemies [20-30 in some later instances of the game] and using varying skills [infocus, sword tricks and overfocus] to overcome these odds. However, the platforming elements of this game can become clunky during later portions of this game but overall I highly recommend it!

  • Great Action Game for Fans and Players alike

Afro Samurai is a great game from a well known company. The graphics are unique and support the action and animation very well. The fighting is one of a kind and is very enjoyable for being a somewhat typical beat em up title. The sounds go well with the action as well as the top notch voice overs which star Samuel L. Jackson as Afro. The soundtrack is probably the best of any video game I have played (and I've played alot). The hip hop style of the music is heard throughout the game and sets the pace of the action. Fans of the anime will definitely appreciate the background story throughout the game but the game is accessable to anyone wanting a good action/ slash em up title.
