    Very hard to find French classic

    This is one of the seminal films of Luis Bunuel’s french period and it also ranks as one of the best films by icon Jeanne Moreau. Bleak perverse and funny, all at the same time. The Criterion transfer is superlative and, since the pressing was a limited edition, it has never been re-issued in the U.S. The black and white scope work is wonderful.
