  • Great unit.

Easy to connect, solid and well sealed---nice unit. The main issue I have with it is the power consumption. When batteries are isolated, the current draw is not much, but still can be significant over time on whichever battery is powering it. However, If batteries are each at same level, with no significant loads, the unit will keep them connected. In that mode, the unit itself is spec'd as drawing 175ma. That may not sound like much, but in 1 day that is 4.2a-hr per day. So for two batteries at nom. 100ah each, about 2% loss will happen each day----i.e. 60% capacity lost from both batteries in a month. Best to add a switch to the ground connection on the unit or use an isolator switch for each battery when not using the vehicle.
