Wish it would've shipped in a bubble envelope instead of a paper one, but it arrived as described at a very low price, so I can't really complain. A+ Seller. Cheers!

  • great movie, tyrese gibson is great

Consensus: In the immortal words of the Village People; 'In the Navy/ You can sail the seven seas/ In the Navy/ You can put your mind at ease.' However, if you're a movie critic, your mind was not put at ease by Annapolis; instead, you were probably felt uneasy because of the remarkable similarities between the plot of this mediocre, cliche-ridden drama and Top Gun and An Officer and a Gentleman. .Rated: PG-13 [See Full Rating] for some violence, sexual content and language. Runtime: 1 hr 44 mins Genre: Dramas Theatrical Release:Jan 27, 2006 Wide Box Office: $16,814,615 Synopsis: When he won a coveted admission spot tothe Naval Academy at Annapolis, local kid Jake Huard (James Franco, "James Dean") thought all his dreams had come true - but his battle to become the man

When he won a coveted admission spot to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, local kid Jake Huard thought all his dreams had come true--but his battle to become the man he wants to be is only just beginning. Now, uncertain if a regular kid from a poor blue collar family can fit into the Academy's pressure-cooker atmosphere, and barely making the grade as a Freshman "plebe," Jake has one last shot at proving he has what it takes to become an officer in an institution that boasts a venerable 137-year history of focused discipline and determined excellence. With nothing left to lose, Jake decides to enter the notoriously fierce Navy boxing competition known as the Brigade Championships--and face off against his arch-nemesis, Midshipman Lt. Cole. Everything Jake has ever hoped for stands in the ...

I was fortunate to go to a screening before it was released in theaters and I left the theater loving what I had just seen. I love this movie becuase the story is very familar but at the same time nothing I had seen before. i really loved remember the titans and this really reminded me of that but at the same time is very different becuase it has nothing to do with football. what this is is a story about freshman or "plebes" at the US Naval Academy, particalary a young plebe played by james franco and follows him and his journey throughout his "freshman year" i knew after i saw it in the theater i would get it on dvd and was glad i did

  • Annapolis the movie plot line is full of holes

The movie,Annapolis, follows the path of the main character, Jake Huard, who is barely accepted to the highly prestigious military academy, Annapolis. I thought that this movie started off on the right foot with an action packed boxing scene. But that's just it, this movie's title has you belive otherwise. The plot development was sorely lacking in many respects. First off, it was more like a boxing movie, than a movie of how life at Annapolis is. The whole point of the movie has the main character, Jake Huard, wanting to beat up one of senior instructors in a boxing match. In fact, this whole movie focuses on this one point. It gets pretty old really fast. Also, what bothered me the most is that the movie never really explores what happened to his overweight roomate,"Arkansas" either. He ...

This movie is about a young man that has grown up on the other side of the tracks. But in this case the other side of the river. He is a hard worker that works on Navel ships while the academy is across the water and he can see them doing their training. His mother that has past away wanted him to go to the academy so he apply but he cannot get in on his own he has bugged a senator to give him a . He gets in and now he has to fit in. This movie is a drama. He struggles with boxing because of a tournament. But he falls in love with a lady over him. Sort of TOP GUN but not quite. This movie is entertaining with a good end.
