Cast of stars and unique story
Probably not the best movie of the various stars but it's one that has survived and is still known. An absolutely dated movie but still good. In this movie, the US Cavalry is out in Kansas fighting abolitionists (those opposed to slavery in the USA) and are NOT fighting Indians!! I think it's suitable for children but as a parent, you'll really need to decide for yourself. The major stars turn in a good performance (for the times). The all-encompassing script tries to put too many historical items together in one story and seems to achieve a running, but disjointed, commentary. The American west probably suffered the most from the War Between the States (American Civil War) and this movie is one of the few which addresses it in any form. Definately looks better in a DVD ... Santa Fe DVD
It's great that they can bring back such a great film and restore it to DVD. To watch our past President Ronald Regan is heartwarming. I don't have a TV but watch the decent DVD's on my computer. This old film deserves an excellent rating. God bless!

Classic story keeps you interested, Famous cast!
I like old movies like this one. I wanted a action packed movies but this one did pretty good. A lot of history and no sex or goar.
