Wish it would've shipped in a bubble envelope instead of a paper one, but it arrived as described at a very low price, so I can't really complain. A+ Seller. Cheers!

  • A Very Heartwarming Movie

What a wonderful movie this was. The movie deals with Kate (Sofia Vassilieva from the TV show MEDIUM) who has cancer. When her mother and father (Cameron Diaz and Jason Patric) find out they are not compatible with her and nether is their son Jesse (Evan Ellingson) they 'Manufacture" another child, Anna, played by Abigail Breslin (Bridge to Teribithia) for the sole purpose of using her body to harvest organs and bone marrow for her sister. At age 11, Kate has reached a critical juncture in her life and needs an organ transplant, Anna decided to hire a lawyer (Alex Baldwin) to emancipate herself from her parents so they can no longer use her body to harvest organs for her older sister. The story is outstanding, the characters are portrayed in a way that you grow to love them ...

  • AWESOME MOVIE! Make sure you have the kleenex ready if you're a softie!

My daughter watched this movie and loved it. So I found it on eBay for a great price and bought it. (We live in a small town and there's no place to rent videos or DVDs and many times it's cheaper to just buy it than drive to the closest town and spend the gas money to get it and then return it.) But it was a GREAT purchase and well worth it. Just make sure you have the Kleenex ready. This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. It's one of the BEST movies I've ever seen and if you're considering it, BUY IT!! It's a wonderful story of family and love, of illness and loss. I HIGHLY recommend it! One of the best movies I've ever seen. My only regret is that I didn't see it on the big screen - it's THAT good! I've ...

  • The story of a family struggle against an unbeatable foe.

Quite a few differences between the book and the movie, but it was still very heart warming to watch. Abigail Breslin and Cameron Diaz were excellent picks for the two top spots. It was odd seeing cameron Diaz in a very serious role, but she did it very well. A hard subject, but handled well.

  • Excellent, but sad

If you've read Jodi Picoult's novel on which this film is based, you will be prepared for a sad ending. And you will get it...but it's not the same sad ending as the book! Since both the book and the film are well worth your time, I won't spoil either ending --- and you'll need your kleenex for both. The story involves a 15-year-old girl who is dying of leukemia and kidney failure. Her sister, 11, sues for medical emancipation so she won't have to keep donating body parts. Both girls are convincingly played by amazing young actresses. Given the nature of the story, there's no possibility of a happy ending; so my question is, why change it at all? I suspect the original ending, if filmed, would be too horrific for mainstream audiences, while the new ...

  • Disappointed with message and movie overall

I was very disappointed with this movie. I purchased it because I was told that it was a very good and moving story. I did not enjoy it as much as I expected. The movie captures the emotional turmoil that a family goes through with cancer very well. But the end leaves you very depressed and with no hope. The mom in the movie (Cameron Diaz) is constantly angry at her younger daughter (Abigail Breslin), and she is extremely selfish (to the point of causing much physical and emotional pain for her younger daughter). A way of summarizing it would be to say that the mom is torturing one daughter with the hopes of prolonging the pain of the other. The biggest thing that I was disappointed with was that the mom never apoligizes for how she treats her younger daughter. Overall, I did not ...
