Great accessory for your plastic Scepter 5 gallon water Jerry can
I just returned from a week of camping and highly recommend this spigot for your Scepter 5 gallon MWC. So glad I purchased one. You will need to open the vent valve if you want more than a cup or so of water when using the spigot and close it afterwards to avoid a drip. This wasn’t a big problem for me since I was outside, but passing it on. The spigot itself is watertight and well sealed. I hesitated when I saw the price, but now find it a valued accessory to my Scepter water can. With the dispenser, it can be set on a table or tailgate horizontally and water easily dispensed using the spigot. The product is specifically designed to screw onto the Scepter threads, which are different from anything you can find in a hardware store. This kit makes it an easy add, and the price is reasonable for such a specialty niche item. Fantastic addition. I bought two new Scepter military water cans, and promptly set about finding the correct hardware to make a decent spout. After an hour at Lowes and $25 in brass and nylon fittings, I went home to compare to the different options out there. This was an easy choice. Used it this weekend it it worked exactly as designed. Nice spout for the scepter water cans. It does tend to drip a little if not tightened all the way. If tightened properly no drips or leaks. Thumb operated lever works very well in push to open or in locked open flow. Only leak will happen around valve of water can when equalizing pressure in can to allow for flow. I keep my valve closed until I noticed a strong drop in flow volume, at that time I open the valve slightly, equalize pressure and close it again.Nice spout for the scepter water cans.
