Better than other thread lockers I’ve used. The product great for mounting scope rails to receivers, scope mounting screws and any other gun related hardware when loosening isn’t an option but without the high risk of twisting off screw and bolt heads.

Great Product If You follow the INSTRUCTIONS

It is fairly easy to use, just follow the instructions on the tube. I was using another brand that can be loosened with hand tools and it just wasn't working the way I thought it should. I have a Ruger MK IV 22/45 and the optics base mount wasn't holding with the other brand. One possible reason being the mounting screw closest to the rear sight has to be shortened so that it will not interfere with the gun's bolt, leaving fewer threads to hold it tight. I cleaned everything thoroughly followed the instructions explicitly and my mount is holding strong. I put about 350 rounds through the gun, cleaned it twice and pleased with the results.

holds TOO tight for my use.

The product certainly holds well.... But, I wanted a product that could be removed and reinstalled many times.... This can be removed, but only with extreme effort.... not what I needed, but could be OK for other uses.

  • Try the "other" threadlocker!

I've always used the other threadlocker when assembling parts that were firearms related. Recently, I wanted something that would insure a snug fit, wouldn't vibrate loose, and could be taken apart and reassembled without needing to be reapplied. This stuff did the job. I got several machine screws of the correct length and applied this VC-3 to the threads of each of them. You let this stuff cure before assembly. I was careful not to apply this stuff right to the end of the screw because you need to have a couple of turns of threads to make the parts easy to assemble. If you have a glob of this on the very end of the screw, catching the threads and getting the screw started is going to be tough. Tightening was not difficult but you could tell from the effort required that the screw ...

  • Vibra-Tite VC--3 allows for moving screw after setting and then it sets up again.

Unlike Loctite, this is a different thread lock material that seems to maintain its elasticity and not become brittle. Loctite is great for locking down threaded assemblies that are intended to not be moved until disassembly. This product will lock down and then allow you to make thread position changes and then it seems to lock down again. The information claims you will be able to disassemble and reassemble five times and the product will maintain performance. It does seem to work this way. I had, past tense now, an issue with my Hood Magnifier continually loosening when I would lift the lens up for normal vision and then move it down. The position of the band tension adjusting nut was moving. This product solved the problem. I applied it to the screw and let it dry for 30 ...

  • Great threadlocker when you may need to adjust the fastener

I ordered the Vibra-TITE 213 VC-3 Threadmate Threadlocker for the tension screws that determine the degree of pistol retention in variable retention holsters. If you follow the directions and let the threadlocker dry before assembly it works as advertised and allows the screws to hold their adjustment even though they are not and cannot be fully tightened as you would normally do. And you can readjust the screws several times before needing to re-apply the threadlocker. The ability to coat the threads and use the fasteners months later makes stocking ready-to-install screws with threadlocker already on them a big plus. I will be reordering this when I need more adjustable threadlocker.
