About this product

Product Information

Mean-streaked tacticians are called upon to fling more minions and raise more hell In Overlord II. Retaining the play style of its predecessor, the game combines the third-person squad management of the GameCube masterpiece, Pikmin, with the wry, good-to-be evil sensibilities of the home computer classic, Dungeon Keeper. The story of Overlord II continues from the first game, as the player assumes the role of the original Overlord's son. Again, the enemy is a civilization known as the Glorious Empire, a great Roman-inspired kingdom that seeks to banish all magic and superstition from the world. Players can choose a path of Domination, ruling mercilessly over the farms and villages of the land and plundering their resources at will, or a path of Destruction, leaving nothing but death and scorched earth in their wakes. Of course, it's actually the Overlord's minions that do all the dirty work....

The sequel expands play with more skilled minions that can perform more tasks, and can work together to operate war machines and sail heavily armed vessels. Minions can also ride wolves and magical creatures into battle. As before, minions are distinguished by their color, and four main types are available in Overlord II. Brown minions take the part of the belligerent infantry; boots on the ground to cause chaos by hand. Reds can set their surroundings aflame in no time. Green minions specialize in stealth, serving as excellent assassins, and otherworldly Blues use magic to heal others and avoid harm. Players can give custom names to their favorite minions, and resurrect them in a special graveyard if they are lost in the line of duty. In places throughout the game, available minions must use their abilities together in order to overcome obstacles and defeat tough enemies.

Overlord II features four multiplayer modes, available both online and in offline split-screen, each with its own map. "Arena Survival" and "Kill a General" are cooperative modes of play. In the "Treasure Hunt" and "King of the Hill" modes, player compete directly against one another.

  • Good game to buy, very fun and funny

After having picked up Overlord Raising Hell I felt intrigued to play this game, sadly only recently was I able to obtain it. So far it is as good as Raising Hell. Camera 3/5: One of the main problems in the game that occurred in Raising Hell but it's still not bad enough to make someone drop the game. But at times it will be irksome. Graphics 4/5: For a game that is more on the cartoon side this has some very good graphics occasionally, hence the not perfect score, you will see some blurred images and rushed graphics. Sound 4/5: Not much to really rate on with this but music could do some improving, sound effects are perfectly fine. Gameplay 5/5: One of the best aspects of the game, though it is pikmin style in alot of areas the overlord can fight. And he is quite strong and reliable. ...

  • It's fun being Evil.....

Extremely fun game. Loaded with lots of humor and fun storyline. I bought this game because I wanted a game I can play without having to be serious and not over think what I have to do. Very easy playing with lots of funny characters. Although, controlling the characters take some getting use to, but once you get the hang of it, you can rack up the havoc. I was hoping the gameplay was kind of like Populus, but its more like a first person adventure game then a strategy game. Of course there are some puzzle that you have to figure out, so some thinking and patience is needed. Not done with the game, but enjoy all of it so far. Great game if your looking for one of those destroy everything in your path. That what this game is all about and with all the evil "gremlin-like" trolls to help you ...

  • It's good to be the Overlord

I tried the demo of the original Overlord a while back and decided to buy it. I've finished the first Overlord game and I am now about 1/4 (or so?) through the 2nd game. The series is great. It does have some flaws which mar the experience, but only slightly. First the little nitpicks. I know people don't like the camera but it's no big deal unless you're big on action and this is more of a strategy game where you need to slow down and assess the situation anyway. Also, sometimes your minions don't behave 90% as they should when you're trying to get them to go somewhere or pick up something. "Hey, you guys missed 1 of those 10 gold sacks.. *sigh* guess I have to pick it up myself.." or "Attack those fire gnomes... attack them already! Ahhh! Get it off! Get it off!" in particular come to ...

  • over lord 2

Over lord 2 was a nice game if you like a lot of carnage and distrution. What I loved about this game was that it gives you more stuff than the first game the story takes you bake frpm the first to the second game and when you find out what you didn't get in the first game you find out in the second .my dislikes were how he doesn't have the same powers he did in the first game but taking over your minions minds and body makes up for it. I bought this game because I loved the 1st one so I loved the 2nd one to

  • Not much new in Overlord II but cult fans will still love it

I was a huge fan of the first overlord game, other than the control issues of course. In overlord II the controls are pretty much the same, except for casting spells is a pain in the ass. As a big fan of the first installment I must say they could have done a LOT more with this sequal, but in the end I'm not totally dissatisfied. So my recomendation is to purchase this tiltle if you can find it cheap, and if and only if you'd like an extended version of "raising hell" cause this one isn't much different.
