There are vendors ebay sellers purchase from saying their hard drives are "new" but in fact show up to 5 years of hours logged (more or less) per software Drive RX. I bought from 5 different vendors "new" hard drives and all have the same issue except one. Sellers, good to be aware of this. Buying Factory Certified is the way to go.     small by comparison to today's drives but ..

    Adequate, especially as a replacement drive in a legacy system which hosts the old standard PATA/IDE drives - and can always be used as an external drive to store gobs of photos and personal data ..

    Good drive, worked immediately with no issues

    The drive looks well, no scratches, looks new even if it was new-other. Had no problems to clone it and ran at the first attempt. A scan before cloning showed zero bad sectors and that made me super happy. However, the space seen was not 160GB but 149.1GB. Not that I care for having 11GB less, I am just a little worried if these 11GB are of bad sectors that have been assigned to alternates. Can that be? The old drive lasted over 18 years. I might not have them to live but I hope that this one won't fail for at least 3-5 years. Thanks for all! lorenzo
