Dead Space 2 for the PC is the second installment in the series of games, continuing from where its predecessor left off and bringing new players up to speed with a creative ‘Previously, on Dead Space’ video. Set three years after the events of Dead Space, Dead Space 2 again centers around the protagonist Isaac Clarke and his battle against the alien hybrid Necromorphs (the mutated, reanimated corpses of people) – this time on Saturn’s moon Titan. Characterized by its cinematic suspense and immersive terror, the gloomy game world is populated with all manner of enemy Necromorphs, from the intelligent and stealthy Stalkers to the disturbing Lurkers. A wide range of other creatures come with varying stats and abilities, including scaling walls, spitting acid, exploding, and slashing, all while charging at Isaac from any direction. Challenging gameplay mechanics combine with smooth and responsive controls, allowing players to take down their enemies with the requisite multiple, strategically placed shots to enemies’ limbs. Exploring the world and its 15 stages, brings Isaac into encounters with a range of different environments, including a creepy Unitologist temple and ruined residential zones, as well as zones without gravity – all serving to further the story. Dead Space 2 on the PC also benefits from a multiplayer, or Outbreak, mode, allowing up to eight players to go up against each other – as humans with in-game objectives or as Necromorphs (alongside AI-controlled characters) out to stop them. Human player characters start with a small range of weapons and can unlock more as the game progresses. Experience is gained in the multiplayer mode by carrying out various actions. These include healing or rescuing teammates, inflicting damage (for variable points), killing enemies, assisting with kills, completing an objective, and ultimately winning rounds. Penalties are applied for suicides and friendly fire, for which experience points are deducted from players’ totals. Dead Space 2 has an ESRB Mature 17+. Minimum hardware requirements are a Pentium 4 2.8GHz or Athlon 64 3000+ CPU with a GeForce 8500 GT or Radeon X1600 graphics card. However, it is recommended to run the game on a Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66 GHz or Athlon II X2 250 CPU with a GeForce 8800 GTS or Radeon HD 3800 series graphics card. As a general guide for PC owners, the game requires a minimum of 1 GB RAM on a Windows XP 32 operating system and 2GB on Windows Vista or 7, Direct X 9 and 10 GB of free HDD space.

    Awesome game. Get it for cheap if you can.

    I really loved the story for the first game, so buying this one was a no-brainer. I was pretty stoked when I found it on eBay for only $20. This game is much smoother than the first one. There's nothing sluggish about Isaac in this one. There are more guns, suits with separate purposes, new necromorphs and more consolidation in the inventory (stasis packs don't take up individual spaces and they didn't even bother with air packs this time). That said, the story is a few hours shorter in this one and the gameplay is a little repetitive. The multiplayer is really fun, but also really frustrating due to no separation of ranks and constant team-stacking. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can still have fun with "New Game+". I can't say I would have felt the same had I bought it full ...

    Space Horror Revisited

    Overall part 2 of the Dead Space Rendevous is alotta fun, weapons and game features cool and the adventure horrifying indeed. I'd recommend the game. Nothing lke firing the ripper or plasma cutter to sever a few appendages. I will mention with Windows 7 there is one stick point I have come across that apparently needs to be patched even with the first one out now. There are work arounds if you look on the net, but it also took me awhile to set up mouse and keyboard controls to my personal liking. At the end of the day, get this game, worth it - it is.

    Dead Space 2: Wonderfully.....horrifying.

    Dead Space 2 takes place three years after the first game, still giving us control of a physically tougher, but more mentally fragile Isaac Clarke. His dementia and hallucinations really add to the game, in my opinion, and just make the atmosphere even creepier. If you liked the first game, you must play this one. It definitely fulfills the "bigger, better" moniker that so many game and movie studios attempt to apply to their sequels.

    This sequal carries on the tradition of blowing off body parts.This game is bloody gore....if you dont like that kinds stuff dont buy it!The story is good..once again our Hero goes up against creatures that are scary.The graphics are better...the weapons are great...as with the first game up can "upgrade" your suits/guns. 8...story 9....graphics 8....replay value If you enjoyed the first game...a must buy!!! strong 8.5 rating!
