    Easy to install following instructions included and works like a dream .

    reasonably easy to install, instantly restored the choke feature allowing me to start the engine which did not work prior . The color coded wiring diagram included with the item insured proper installation . This was awesome . Hearing that motor fire up was sweet music to my ears .

    Dont cut!!

    If you have an original Johnson ignition please buy the more expensive part. The more expensive part is just plug and play. No sense cutting a bunch of wires and causing trouble down the road.

    The real deal

    If you need a 508180, then this is the authentic OEM part. There can’t be many old stock OEM parts like this still on the shelf - I feel like I was lucky to find one. Otherwise you’d have to find a compatible microswitch and rework the existing part.

    Good value replacement part

    First I bought a third party replacement which did not fit well or last long. Skimpy key broke and start position failed in 3 months. This OEM replacement fit better, has thick key and hopefully will last longer.

    OMC, Johnson OEM Start switch

    Exact replacement for my 1980 (41 year old) 17 ft. center console johnson remote push to choke start switch. Started with 100hp 90deg v4; 2motors later still starts 90hp 60deg v4.
