They are used as there is blemishes on the plastic where it has been scratched up, at least on mine. Also, there is no "additional lumbar support" which would indicate that it has the optional sliding lumbar adjustment. It's just the regular seat back that offers lumbar by default with the way its curved. With that said, I am still very happy with the chair, and the seller was very responsive to my questions, shipping was fast

The chair itself arrived in a very "banged-up" box, but I didn't see/experience any damage to the contents. The chair has been comfortable and very adjustable. Wish it was a little bigger. I'm 6'3" / 200 lbs. with long legs. Seat pan is adjustable for depth, but it still is a little on the short side for me. If Steelcase makes these in different sizes, include that in the description please.

Madison Seating did a great job packaging and protecting it so I don't blame them at all. I think FedEx handled it poorly. They were quick to respond and address my issue and when I decided to process a return they processed it within 10 minutes. The chair was in good quality otherwise, condition was as described, it's a great value, and the appearance was very good. Great seller overall.
