About this product

Product Information

The Birdman goes back underground for his sixth foray into video games, this direct sequel to 2003's RPG-style on-board adventure. As in the original Tony Hawk's Underground, THUG 2 centers on a player-created character, who must work his or her way up from suburban obscurity to extreme sport stardom. As in the previous game, players create their characters from scratch, assigning skill points and choosing from the widest array of appearance options yet offered in the series. Once created, the player's character is picked by Mr. Hawk himself, to lead a team of skaters against a rival gang in the game's "World Destruction Tour" competition, which plays out in famous cities around the globe.<br><br>The rival team in question is "Team Bam," and it's lead by extreme sports bad boy Bam Margera against the player's own "Team Hawk." Challenges are diverse, with goals that range from claiming turf with graffiti and stickers to more mischievously destructive objectives. Players can now annoy local pedestrians, by pelting them with projectiles, but they'll want to keep an eye out for new talent. There are over 20 different skater characters in the game (often found going about their non-skater business) who may be persuaded to join up and strengthen the player's team. Gamers can switch between teammate characters on the fly, allowing them to use the strengths of different skaters as different situations call for them.<br><br>In addition to the extensive character creation tools it offers, THUG 2 also lets players design their own tricks, skate parks, and even custom graffiti "tags." For old-school Pro Skater fans, THUG 2 also features a "Classic" mode, with a play style more similar to that of earlier entries in the franchise. Here, virtual skaters will race to complete familiar goals such as collecting letters to spell the word "SKATE," finding the secret video tape, and earning top scores in timed runs.

    Great game

    People have said that this game is where the series started to dip, but I find this game as a sort of compilation of the older games. It has many maps from other Tony Hawk games as well as many new ones. Think of it as a greatest hits for the Tony Hawk maps. Tricks and controls are smoother than ever as well.

    Good stuff

    If you like the Tony Hawk series, this one will satisfy, but it doesn&apos;t break much new ground. As far as I can tell, the only difference in the game play is the addition of the &quot;focus&quot; feature, which allows you to go into slow-motion during a combo (if you&apos;ve ever played the Max Payne series, you&apos;ll probably recognize it). The game also has an old-school &quot;Classic&quot; mode that works just like Tony Hawk 1 and 2--you have 2 minutes to accomplish a list of goals, instead of skating around and talking to people in order to get a goal. In the story mode, it does seem like there are more random goals that have little to do with skating.

    This is one out of the two greatist game ever!

    THE GAMEPLAY IS AWSOME! It is so fun to complete the goals. Tons of unlockibles! The graphics could have been better compared to Pro Skater 3. Story Mode is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Classic Mode is alot harder than Pro Skater 3 if you are planning on getting a Tony Hawk game but haven&apos;t played any others yet, then buy Underground 2 for it&apos;s difficulty and easy to master gameplay. The Gamecube version is way better than the others because of the controler setup wich is PERFECT! I can do insane combos because the Gamecube controler. The only things that could make this game any better would be four player support and special Gamecube exclusive characters (like in SSX On Tour and NBA Street V3).

    Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (Game Cube)

    For anyone who likes a challenge. I am not a skateboarder but I love games that you have objectives to do. And this game is just that you can be many different pro skateboarders, You can make your own skateboarder (male and female), and there are a few celbrities as well, Jesse James is one. There are many challenges for differnt skill levels and specific challenges for differnt skateboarders. All around I feel a GREAT game.

    Tony Hawks Underground 2 Game Cube

    This game is for the game cube system which is pretty outdated. It is for my 8 year old son. I didn't realize that it was a used game when I purchased it. The case is pretty shot but, I hope the game plays ok. Next time I know to look better because I only want to purchase brand new items.
