Featuring affiliations with several international MMA organizations, and offering gamers the chance to fight with more than 60 real-world combatants, EA Sports MMA marks the publishing giant's debut in the arena of mixed martial arts games. EA Sports MMA was designed to offer an authentic fight experience, offering players the chance to step into the cage with such industry luminaries as Randy Couture, Fedor Emelianenko, Shinya Aoki, and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, and featuring unique walkouts for each fighter, introductions from ring announcer Jimmy Lennon, Jr., refereeing from "Big" John McCarthy, and running commentary from Frank Shamrock and Mauro Ranallo. The combat was also designed to reflect the many disciplines within MMA, so gamers can choose to pursue submission holds, stand up and battle from the clinch, use ground and pound tactics, or combine any of the styles into a hybrid technique. The developers at EA Tiburon also wanted to discourage button mashing, so they designed the Total Strike Control system of strikes, advances, and counters that requires players to manage their stamina through strategic use of the analog sticks and timed button presses.<br><br>The "Career" mode finds gamers traveling to different gyms in the United States, Japan, Brazil, and Thailand to learn new skills and techniques from top trainers Pat Miletich, Rickson Gracie, and Bas Rutten. Players then put their skills to use in a variety of drills, with the goal of rising through the ranks and making it to the Strikeforce stage. Online action lets gamers level up and earn title belts in each weight class, and by creating hype videos for their fighter, players have the chance to earn real-world prizes and have their fights broadcast online, complete with live commentary. And for those with dreams of becoming world-class fighters, EA Sports MMA includes a "Photo Game Face" mode which lets users upload pictures of themselves to create and share personalized combatants.

    Very fun!

    I played the demo for this game and wasn't very impressed. I didn't think I'd be buying this title, but some friends convinced me to get it b saying it was drastically improved from what it was demo-time. They were right, the game is so much more fluid and fun. The best feature though, is online. Online matches are just so fun because of all the different playing styles and strategies. It is very complex, and very fun. This game is a must buy for any MMA fan.

    EA sports mma 5 out of 5

    Fun and challenging. game modes are fight now (exhibition), mma 101, career, xbox live, and fighter share. Many of the greats and legends of mma are in this game. In career mode train and compete in many gyms and stadiums, unlocking new moves for your fighter doing exersizes and drills to improve your fighter stats. Fight with a smart controller set of moves and have total control over every aspect of your fighter (looks, fight style, etc.) Fantastic game 5 out of 5

    awesome

    great game love the action making your opponent summit and multilayer it is truly a fun game although the controllers will take some getting use to but you can change the controls to play like ufc or just use the regular controls

    if you love mma pick this game up

    This game is great the mechanics are much better than ufc undisputed and if it also supports ufc controls (optional) althought the ea mma controls are superior in ground combat. the character creation feature is great and it allows you to upload custom characters for others to download. you can watch and participate in live commentary battles which is actually lots of fun. if your a fan of mma and fighting games this is a stronger game than ufc undisputed but if youre just a fan of the ufc league your'e probably not gonna find any familiar faces in this game.

    Fight enthusiast? This is the game for you!

    if your into fighting like the ufc then this is the game for you its as realistic as it gets. this game has a little bit of the ufc undisputed feeling and fight night joystick control mixed into 1 game. and i think thats the best way a fighting game should be so your not just button mashing and you have complete control over your fighter.
