About this product

Product Information

You can experience what “boots on the ground” really means in one of the most intense first-person shooter war games ever created. If you are looking for a game that is going to truly give you the relentless wartime action you’ve been craving, Killzone 2 for the Playstation 3 can be the boundary pushing video game you’ve been searching for. Developed by Guerilla Games, this follow up to the smash PS2 hit ups the ante and can provide even more exhilarating combat gameplay with improved graphics and even more realistic action as the Helghast war machine returns for their revenge. In Killzone 2 for Sony Playstation 3, you take on the role of Sev, a special forces soldier with the ISA who back you up against the assault from the vicious Helghast army. To stop their attempts at victory, you must work with your team to try and capture their leader, Emperor Visari. As Sev, you lead a special combat team known as Legion, and their missions come to life through stunning visuals and innovative game technology powered by EDGE tools. From slick animation, impressive character transitions and highly detailed environments that come to life with thrilling effects, Killzone 2 can be the sort of PS3 game that feels so real and intense, you can’t help but become consumed by the action when you play. The special effects are studio grade, improving the quality of every second of the game with full screen anti-aliasing, motion blur, internal lens reflection, and depth-based color grading that adds a visible level of sharpness to the visuals. As the ISA Legion tries to defeat the evil Helghan, you have to endure the harsh conditions of their planet, an environment that only becomes more brutal throughout the hardships of war. The Helghast army knows how to use the climate to their advantage and ensuring that you suffer the greatest toll possible as a result will be part of their strategy. You get to fight back with an arsenal of weapons and vehicles new to this video game as well as classic accessories like the M82-G and StA-52 LA. As a first-person shooter game, you are truly in the action, viewing the carnage from Sev’s point of view and leading his efforts against the enemy. Killzone 2 for PS3 is designed as a peak cover system where you will be required to find cover behind various objects to protect you from Helghast fire and wait for your perfect moment to come out and strike back. The perspective of the game switches to third-person when you are using pilot vehicles such as a tank or robotic exoskeleton. Like the groundbreaking game before it, Killzone 2 pushes the boundaries of the genre with unbelievable realism and incredibly intensity. All of the gut wrenching factors of war can become even more all encompassing thanks to the game’s 7.1 surround sound. Thanks to state of the art wave tracing audio technology, the sound will be location specific, adding another component of authenticity to the video game. This detailed approach to sound quality can provide greater context and consistency between indoor and outdoor settings. From Sony Computer Entertainment, Killzone 2 for PS3 can transport you to wartime conditions in the ISA Legion mission to capture Visari and defeat the Helghast army.

    GAME ON

One of the best game I've had the pleasure in playing to occupy my mind during this man made plandemic. Lock Down....... stock up on critical needs. Store plenty of sodas chips cookies and frozen pizzas. Oh don't forget the toilet paper. See you all on the field.

  • non-stop action

checked what all the hype was about this game. it turns out, it really is a cool game to play. the graphics of the game although it supports only 1080i(right of the box), is still crisp and smooth. i just bought my 1st ps3 and it's a limited gun grey edition and i'm used to playing my FPS on a keyboard and mouse. for me, it takes getting used to the aiming controls of the dual shock controller. so i use a frag fx controller in aiming. i notice a bit of lag when pressing buttons on either one, e.g. jump button.i notice a split second lag between pressing and execution. the AI of the game is excellent.enemies constantly move in all directions. their strength is in numbers, try to surround you and pin you down. you can't wait for an enemy's to pop out of hiding especially when he/they know ...

  • See? PS3 *can* Do Decent Graphics!

I have not finished the game yet, so keep that in mind! Movement and Control: The cover system is...different...and sometimes glitchy. Random surfaces (that look almost identical to ones around them) will for some reason be "invalid" cover surfaces. You'll walk up to them, hold L2, and your character will just crouch instead of taking cover. Weird, but a minor inconvenience. For the most part, it works properly. It takes some getting used to after playing other stop'n'pop games like Gears of War and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, though. Aiming can be a chore sometimes, as there seems to be a very large dead spot in the analog stick (not my controller). This means that if you're used to making tiny adjustments to your aim by flicking the right stick, you've gotta re-learn. Nudge it. ...

  • Not a perfect game, but pretty close!

The one thing I don't like about the game is that you can't fully customize the controller settings and even with it set up how I have it now, I am not totally satisfied. The character handling also feels a bit sluggish compared to other games I have played. I would have liked it to be a bit more responsive. The game itself has amazing graphics and great cut-scenes during campaign mode. I was pleasantly surprised by how great the online multiplayer is in this game. I was kind of worried, because I have played a few other big name titles. My expections are high with online multiplayer. I would have to say Killzone 2 meet and exceeded my expectations for this game. While it is different from other games it is truly its own model. I would recommend this game to anyone who is looking ...

  • Solid 1st person shooter

Killzone 2 is a top notch shooter with some of the best graphics around, a good story and great controls. It is definitely a game for hardcore shooter fans. You learn quickly not to just run in with guns blazing in this game. To be successful, you have to make good use of cover and take a more strategic approach. It has a few issues though; too many areas seemed to have infinitely spawning enemies (which I find tedious), the bad guys were a little too hard to kill - it shouldn't take 3 head shots to kill your average grunt, the environment never changes, and you can only carry two weapons (1 of which is a pistol) at a time, which leaves you stuck with a crappy gun too often. I didn't really get into the multi-player side of the game because I bought the game about a year after it's ...
