Sweet faith-based story of boys learning about faith

I liked this movie a lot! Set in 1971, a widower of great faith befriends a group of boys and teaches them about life and living Biblically. He is very skilled and knowledgeable, and the boys are filled with enthusiasm about what they are learning, and make strides in living it. There's obstacles, lessons, and side stories that make it real. Though our modern world is more harsh and less accepting of the Gospel, the movie makes us ask "what if we actually did all Jesus commanded us to do?". Children have a special way of conveying truth and love and enthusiasm, and they can get through to people who may otherwise not hear. It's a great movie for kids who enjoy church, or have encountered bullying, or who simply want an example of how life was really meant to be lived.

  • Title is fine

It's a wholesome movie, one that could explain one aspect of bulling. It also has a surprise in it that I wasn't expecting, and should be for an older child to watch with a parent, perhaps. They should make more movies like this.

  • Engaging Christian movie with good dialogue.

Good Christian movie, in a comforting setting. A time period that almost directly relates to me. They introduced good plot twists. The only real CON I had was the screen writer threw in a way-too-obvious copy scene from the Dead Poet Society, using a graveyard instead. Outside of that, I enjoyed the movie.

  • Awesome product at very low price

I love love love this movie! Brand new in mint condition at a very low price. I really like to bargain shop and this movie costs so much at the Christian stores I live by so for the price I got it at I was super pleased.

  • A LIFE WORTH LIVING

Johnathan Sperry, portrayed by Gavin McLeod in a brilliant performance,, reminds us that amidst the tragedies besetting us in this life, that it is indeed, (to quote the Venerable Fulton J Sheen, whose 1950s weekly program drew 30 million viewers while opposite the comic icon of the day, Milton Berle) a "Life Worth Living" thru Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
