About this product

Product Information

The fifth edition in KOEI's popular Dynasty Warriors series boasts quantitative improvements over its predecessors -- more characters, larger maps, and deeper stories. The addition of six new characters brings the playable total up to 48. Each character follows a distinct storyline, experienced from personal perspective. Maps are up to 30 percent larger than those in earlier games, and the enhanced engine can display nearly twice as many warriors onscreen at the same time. Artificial intelligence has also been improved, to produce more efficient allies as well as more cunning opponents.

Item arrived quickly and as described. It functions perfectly and was not damaged in transit despite the poor packaging of the item. I was honestly a little annoyed to have paid $5 for shipping on a $2 stamp, but it’s still a decent total price and made for an excellent gift. Don’t take my comments negatively; I would buy from this seller again and do recommend others consider this seller as well!

I use a shipping rate for Canada which is the same price no matter which game you buy. The Nintendo DS game that you bought happens to be extremely light. For 95%+ of the games, the shipping price makes sense. However, some games are heavier and some games are lighter than the average - so there is an aspect of fluctuation that I account for. But you're right about the total price, that's what matters, I also currently have "Best Offer" on - so you can always make an offer to get a better price.

    Excellent

Great ps2 hack and slash game. It's nostalgic but holds up pretty well with modern entries in the series. It's my personal favorite.

  • Fun Game That Did Not Disappoint, but...

I have played Koei's Dynasty Warriors series since the very first one (DW1 was basically just a street-fighter style arcade game), and with each new version, I come to expect a little more. Koei, for the most part, delivered, but the game did not wow me like I thought it would. For someone who actually knows the history of the Three Kingdoms period, I have to wonder how many more playable characters Koei can still add to the game, but they continued to do that. The new characters, in my opinion, were decent choices, though their playability are not all that great. Xing Cai, for example, may be the worst playable character available next to Xu Zhu. Koei has also changed the modes that are available to play. Legend Mode is a nice touch that allows you to live the life of each ...

  • The name to beat in beat-`em-ups!

While you might hear people complain about the number of Dynasty Warriors games, there's a reason the series gets sequels and spinoffs so often: it's really good. Based on the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Dynasty Warriors 5 strips the epic of its nuance and complexities- and I mean that in the best way- and puts you on the battlefield with a weapon in your hand. You choose one of 50-some characters and fight through their respective historic battles in Musou Mode, or use anyone, anywhere, on any side of the conflict in Free Mode. Graphics are solid but won't wow the technically-minded player- a necessity of displaying dozens of enemy soldiers at once, I figure. However, the cinematics are colorful and dramatic, easily the equal of a high-end Squaresoft game. The controls ...

  • Another DW game; better or worse?

Koei has made another Dynasty Warriors game and what does it have to offer this time? Well actually there's MORE characters to play with and instead of a general musou mode, you can play each characters story. No more running through Yellow Turban menace then Dong Zhuo's reign of terror over and over again. New bodyguard system, you find weapons now as opposed to DW4. I actually prefer this over DW6 which has proven to be a gorgeous game, but just not worth playing due to the changes made to the characters and their stories.

  • Same great package with more details!

Another Dynasty Warriors title and does not disappoint returning fans. It has much of the same stuff such as mindless hacking and slashing as the older ones, with improvements made in the areas that the most complaints were in. The bodyguard system is greatly improved (now only one bodyguard that actually does attack), a "Chaos" difficulty level which is much harder than the other difficulties. The old weapon system from Dynasty Warriors 3 is back, where you find the items and get the most powerful weapon for each character by accomplishing certain tasks in a specific level. Some things that I wish it would have is the ability to have two or even three of the bodyguards; after all, you can have up to 8 to choose from, why not allow you to use more than one at a time? Also, Lu Bu is ...
