Product Information

After 10 year-old Karen (Brooke Shields) is killed in church on the occasion of her first communion in 1960s New Jersey, Alice, her seemingly innocent 12-year-old sister, becomes the prime suspect. Matters are complicated when more of Alice's family members turn up dead along with residents of her apartment building. Is a twelve year-old girl capable of such mayhem, or is she too obvious a suspect? Shot in Paterson, New Jersey, ALICE, SWEET ALICE features a surprising amount of bloodletting along with a heavy dose of Catholic iconography mixed in with the horrific proceedings. This was the first (abeit brief) screen appearance for Shields.

    Classic Horror!

    Alice Sweet Alice aka Communion is a great classic horror movie. Made in 1976, it has the low budget look and feel of the time. Alice, poor, sweet, bratty Alice - could she possibly be her lil' sis murderer? Brooke Shields plays Alice's sister who gets murdered during her first communion. Great mood and music, combined with Catholic symbols make this one creepy film. I seem to use "creepy" a lot in my reviews - but that is only because those are the best horror movies. You know, the ones that make you uncomfortable. The ones that give you a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach. Slasher flicks may make you jump but creepy last forever!

    the director did a great job, it,s got asthomsphere,suspenseful and general creepiness while it is dated still it is a great slasher,i am glad to have added it to my collection.
