Hanna Barbera's all-girl-band adventure show was a huge hit back in 1970 and this set includes all 16 episodes of this classic animation. While the girls may want to rock out in their leopard-print leotards, there's always some criminal mastermind or a mad scientist along the way to spoil their fun. And if it's not the bad guys who threaten the Pussycats from jamming, their wimpy manager or his evil cousin Alexandria are sure to get in the way. But Josie and the gang never let trouble keep them down, even when it's caused by Sebastian the cat, and before long they're back on the road to put on a show. This is one of the signature series of Hanna Barbara's '70s line-up and is a fun nostalgic blast from the days of SPACE GHOST and SCOOBY-DOO.

1970s Childhood Cartoons are Back!
What a super collection! Having watched Josie and the Pussycats as a child, it was too good to pass up an opportunity to own the complete series on DVD so our children can take a break from all the silly cartoons of today to enjoy one of the most loved series in the halcyon days of cartoons. Effective packaging, both the cover photo as well as the inner case which holds multiple disks and keeps them safe from scratches. Great value, in all, for family entertainment and we expect to enjoy them for many years to come!What a super collection! "The 1970 animated television series 'Josie And The Pussycats' proved to be one of the very best shows of its kind. Although it lasted for only 16 episodes, it turned out to be an excellent example of of great story-telling on Saturday mornings. It was always exciting to follow the adventures of Josie, Valerie, Melody, Alan, Alexander, Alexandra and Sebastian each week. They managed to successfully defeat the bad guys every time, while traveling around the world and singing their latest batch of hit songs. Now, that the entire series has been released onto a complete DVD package is a thrill for every Josie fan. Each episode is presented in its entirety and in the original broadcast order. The picture and sound quality are outstanding. There is also a special tribute to Dan DeCarlo, the ... A Walk Down Memory Lane
I bought this DVD for my daughter because I remember enjoying "Josie and the Pussycats" when I was a little girl. It's really a kick to watch these old cartoons from my childhood and realize how much animation has evolved along with subject matters. I appreciate not having to worry about the content in the cartoons; they definitely represent a more innocent time. Most of all, I couldn't be more thankful that these vintage cartoons are available on DVD to share with my little girl. It's a great way to share memories from my childhood with her and I really look forward to making time to watch them with her!I bought this DVD for my daughter because I remember enjoying "Josie and the Pussycats" when I was a little girl. It's really a kick to watch these old cartoons from my childhood and realize how much animation has evolved along with subject matters. Josie and the Pussycats Complete Series
This may very well be the best cartoon show ever made! Combine the antics of Scooby Doo [sans the annoying Scooby Doo character] with the fun of an all-girl rock band! This show was the first to feature a regular African American character and the first for an all girl rock band, too. With art very close to the original comic art by Dan DeCarlo! It features a great documentary on him, furthermore. The Josie property is by far, in my opinion, the best of the Archie series and this show is great! "Josie" started out as an "Archie" Comic (as the lone Special Feature explains). "Josie and the Pussycats" was Hanna Barbera's most successful and enjoyable send-up to Scooby-Doo (it was the only Scooby-Doo send-up to survive for two complete seasons, counting their jettison into outerspace). By the way, this "complete series" is actually just the first complete season ("...in Outerspace" was released on a made-to-order basis from the Warner Archive Collection, directly from the website). Anyway, every Saturday Morning, the fearless leader Josie, brainy Valerie, vivacious if slightly scatter-brained Melody, roadie Alan, annoying anti-hero Alexandra, cowardly Shag-I mean, Alexandar (iconocally voiced by Casey Kasem, reutilizing Shaggy's exact voice and many of his mannerisms), and ... The initial run of Josie was no exception; yet the laughtrack was oddly left out of the DVD releases.
