About this product

Product Information

Full of famous characters and free-range fighting, this game is designed to let Dragon Ball Z fans play through some of their favorite storylines. Following success of the Budokai 3D fighting series, Dragon Ball Z returns to PS2 and GameCube (and comes to Xbox for the first time) in this third-person action-adventure, which is based directly on the animated television series. Dragon Ball Z: Sagas lets gamers take the roles of five DBZ heroes -- Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Trunks -- and play through the first parts of the anime series' sophisticated storyline, from the Saiyan Saga through the Cell Games.

DBZ Sagas is designed to let fans explore open-ended areas featured on the television show. Random enemies and hidden items promote an "emergent," sandbox-style of play. Since the main game mode follows the plot of the animated series, the playable character changes through the adventure's 19 levels, according to the heroes featured in the different chapters of the story. Famous villains such as Cell, Nappa, and Raditz are featured as well, in boss battles that occur between the third-person adventure levels. Once the main game has been completed, new playable characters are unlocked, and gamers can revisit levels as any hero they wish, even if their choice doesn't make sense in the Dragon Ball Z timeline.

  • Dragon Ball Z: Sagas

Learning Curve: 15 minutes Learning new moves was not hard at all... just refer back to the battle menu to see how moves are executed. It was nice to see that they incoporated the tv series into the entire thing... from Napa and Vageta to the Cell games. It wasnt as long as I hoped it to be, played around 3 hours total and was done. Battling was neat, charging up for your Kamahama attack and playing as different characters. Tried the two player co-op which made the game extremely easy even on the hardest setting. Overall id give it a 4 out of 10. Not the greatest game played (Halo Series) but worth playing at least once by yourself or with a friend.

  • So far so good

I got the game I saw a couple of scratches in the middle of the disk but besides that I tried it out and it works perfectly so far.

  • Awesome

It's a great game. I bought this product because I am a fan of DBZ. I wish they would make more DBZ games like this rather than something just playing against each other. The other DBZ games are like that where all the game allows you do is play the characters against each but this game has a story mode which is just perfect.

  • Dragon Ball Z: Sagas (Xbox) : don't waste your time

Very Poor Game. The controls are slow to respond and execute, yet combination attack sequences are simple, boring(XXXXYYYYY), and ineffective. The voices are not those of the original actors. The action is tedious until you reach an enemy that is completely unbeatable, and then you just give up. The DBZ Budokai series on PS2 is a MUCH better representation on Dragonball Z. Don't waste your time and money on this terrible game.
