About this product

Product Information

Designed as a tool for self-expression that places emphasis on the music rather than the game, Jam Sessions offers music enthusiasts a way to take their tunes on the road. Gamers may begin in the tutorial and learn how different movements made on the touch screen affect the sound and intensity of each guitar chord. Players have access to eight chords that can be saved as presets to specific songs and accessed at a later time. In "Performance" mode, gamers must mimic the guitar section in each song as the chords scroll upwards on the screen. When songs are played accurately, players unlock goodies including backgrounds. However, "Free Play" is where gamers can unleash their creativity and create songs on their own and then save them to play later. "Free Play" also includes a roster of "stomp box" effects including the ability to add distortion, reverb, tremolo, and chorus to stock sounds.

Wish it would've shipped in a bubble envelope instead of a paper one, but it arrived as described at a very low price, so I can't really complain. A+ Seller. Cheers!

Top Ebayer! A++++++ Exactly as described, nicely packaged, good price and arrived quickly. (if you see 3 items with similar reviews of mine for this seller, that's because I ordered 3 things on the same day from this seller and they were all excellent!) Thanks!!

  • Jam Sessions

I do not know how to play a musical instrument. Always wanted to learn guitar. Unlike Guitar heroes, the band, etc...Jam is actually a learning to play tool. You could conceivably learn to play a real guitar practicing. I have bought over 30 games for my DS lite alone. Everyone in my family have one. Heres the kicker, I am soon to be 58 years old, nd I take my DS everywhere. Now those annoying doctors appt. are just recess to play. The games are crossing ge barriers. And game makers seem to be keeping us boomers entertained! Ye Nintendo! We also have Wii! Jam is one of those games everyone can play with!@

  • AWESOME!!

I've played guitar for 6 years but it's sometimes a hassle tuning and changing strings and I am up at night and can't play as I don't want to wake anyone up. This is NOT a game but a simulater.Sound is very good and you can change the tone like with a CAPO with real guitars.Has tons of chords to choose from. And many songs included so you cant play them with the lyrics and sing along. The interface is simple but probably my favorite game/program I have bought for my DS. A great DS program for those who play or want to play guitar.

  • Younger children might like it. It isn't for me anymore. Great value tho!

I bought this because I had owned it while I was still in highschool about the time it came out i believe. I was facsinated by it at the time and was under the impression maybe I'd feel the same. It is a nice concept however it would be nice if they let you download more songs. There is the free play which you can just play your own if you are familer with the games chords. At this time and year I'll pass on this. It was fun when I was a kid. Other children perhaps would enjoy it, but chances are your kid is going to like guitar hero more over this.

  • Interesting

For those of us who have always wanted to play the guitar but never did, this is a great piece of software. The reason I use the term "software" and not "game" is because there is NOTHING game"ish" about it. I had fun playing along to songs in real life... but I wouldn't recommend this title unless you actually want to play guitar.

  • Great game - thank you.

My son enjoys this game. The game is full of age approprate music that my son enjoys. He is ten years old. It was a great find on eBay. We are very blessed. :)
