This was a great, and touching movie. This movie has made me think about a lot of stuff that goes on everyday in this world. It effects a lot of ex veterans in our country. But we still have to live our day as it is, day by day. It was just really hard for me to think that a hero like him was here one minute and gone the next. Truly a great movie about a great American hero
I purchased this product because first, it supports (more in spirit than physically although it did include a $1 donation) our troops, the men and women who put their lives on the line FOR OUR FREEDOM. My second reason was this was a VERY EXCELLENT movie and portrayed an American hero (something we need much more of). Although much was about war, some was about the war at home, overcoming the obstacles of coming back from war to a normal life. I support and love our military because EVERY FREEDOM we have is become our VETERANS AND CURRENT MILITARY have fought for that right. I enjoyed the movie because Mr. Eastwood did us proud with this story as did the actors who portrayed this wonderful family and supporting cast. As far as a fan of war movies, I'm not. However, to see how this ... I'm VERY PROUD of the Kyle story and how this man grew. We see him from childhood until he was murdered. The story was heart warming, the love he has for his wife and kids, the respect he learned from his father and mother, the love of our country, the desire to stop terrorists. Was Mr. Kyle perfect, not by a long shot. Are any of us, not by a long shot (whether you believe it or not). The point is, this was a movie about being a human being, flaws and all. You should identify with some of the struggles and thoughts Mr. Kyle had. If you love your country, if you have pride in our men and women who protect us, if you are happy to live in the US, if you are or know a veteran or military person, this is a movie you should watch again and again and appreciate the freedoms bought for you by men and women like this. To all those folks who want to claim that Mr. Kyle was a killer or out for sport, quit drinking the liberal Kool-Aid and watch what a real man does when his country is threatened as it was on 9/11 (his reason for joining up). Excellent! The best war movie I've seen in years.
The most impressive thing about this movie is that it brilliantly shows how a perfectly likable guy from the neighborhood can be forced to do some ugly things, and come home disturbed. It does that as well as The Deer Hunter, but without most of the gore and horror. The best flick I've seen this year.
