    In 1998, I was living in Sarasota, Florida. Totally devoid of friends, working a job I didn't want, with people I didn't know. I was reading quite a bit. I wandered into a Barnes & Noble looking for a new book. I saw a few Bukowski titles. All I knew about the man at this time, was that the movie "Barfly" was based on his life. The title: "You Get So Alone at Times That It Just Makes Sense" completely resonated with me at that moment. I picked it up and randomly opened the book and read a poem called "Red Shoes." I immediately loved his prose-style, straight forward style. These seems less like "poems" as I knew them, and more like really short stories that left you with a singular and powerful emotion. I was hooked. The best poem in the book is the last one called "All The Way." It is ...
