    A Great travel Journal around America

    I loved this book. In fact this is about the 12th copy of it that I have bought. I give them to friends and have them give them to other friends. All so people can read about this author's trip around America and the wonderful people that he met.

    I'm hoping to take the whole trip mapped in the book this year!

    Have a pop up sportsmobile 1996 van and hope to leave on the route in the book next month and see the fall colors on the East Coast as I travel the Blue Highways. Making notes on where to plan to spend more time as I read the book.

    A Wonderful Story!

    Least Heat Moon's novel "Blue Highways" is a true account of his journey around America. Without giving too much away, I'll say that he embarks on a mission to see America on the "blue highways" - the smaller local and regional roads that spiderweb through the nation. As a motorcyclist, I appreciate this approach to travelling. There's a lot to be said for the countless untold stories that lurk in the small towns and rural farms of America, and Least Heat Moon gives us a wonderful slice of Americana that we can all learn from. The book is very well written, and I had a lot of trouble putting it down the first time I read it. Some of the stories will leave you in stitches; others just make you shake your head and wonder what exactly goes through ...

    Road Trip!

    My brother recommended William Least Heat Moon, and I cannot say enough about this wonderful book! Like Steinbeck's "Travels with Charley" and Kerouac's "On the Road" only better, if that is possible. "Blue Highways" takes you down those roads less traveled, off the interstates, back to where the people have stories to tell.
