Wonderful yoga workout for real people
This is an excellent video for the true beginner of yoga. If you are out of shape, this is the workout for you. Megan has a realistic figure for many women to identify with and takes body size into consideration for her exercises. She offers modifications to get you going and leaves room for you to advance. She teaches breathing, meditation and poses that will leave you feeling like you have just had a wonderful yoga class. You will want to do this workout every day until you are ready for something more advanced. Some folks will say this video is too easy, but those people are not really out of shape. Finally - Yoga for "Big Girls!"
I'm a big girl and proud of it! I also like to exercise, but honestly some exercise programs are just ridiculous. I do not run (wasn't built for speed) or jump (sorry, too "gifted" for that!) so yoga is just the thing. I get a nice, healthy stretch with this DVD and then I'm ready for my daily walk. With many workout programs for plus-sized people, they tend to be slower or less of a workout. Sometimes I'd feel like I didn't do much of anything with other programs. Not this one. There are some really good stretches, without turning yourself into a pretzel. After using it only a few times, I can see how I can go from a beginner and continue my stretches until I can perform more advanced positions. It's very inspirational and also lots of fun. The host, Megan Garcia is neither the obnoxious ... I'm a big girl and proud of it! I also like to exercise, but honestly some exercise programs are just ridiculous. I love this DVD because Megan Garcia has developed a yoga program that as a plus sized woman, I can actually follow !! The movements are easy and not stressful on my joints. Megan also makes ajustments in the poses so that if you have large breasts or a tummy you are still able to do them. I highly recommend this for all you plus size women out there, who want to be who they are just fit and healthy. Being a woman that is not petite, I completely appreciate this DVD. I really appreciate the plus size model doing the exercises. This is a very basic yoga workout, which for a beginer is very comforting and safe, there is a section that offers tips if you are not able to do some of the exercises. The execises are well explained and demonstrated. The tone is professional and courteous, you are not being patronized nor are you being drilled with a lot of techinal words.
