I wanted to get one of these before the price went up. Used to be into Boss but I kinda like DOD better now. Some older ones were American made but I can't tell if that makes a difference in pedals, guitars yes. Anyway this one sounds great, tight focused tone good for lead guitar from any style and heavy riffing metal stuff. Can't say if it's good for extreme metal but 80's stuff sounds close enough for me in my bedroom. I wanted to get one of these before the price went up. Great go to distortion with many applications, punk, rock, metal, dub step.
I was looking for the classic DOD Grunge fx69 to finish off one of my pedalboards. I dig the type of distortion this pedal creates. While it's made for electric guitar, I like using it on bass and other instruments and adjust the Grunge accordingly. My favorite thing about the original version are names they gave the bass and treble knobs. They read butt and face, that's how you can tell it's the first version. People weren't so politically correct back in the 90's. Only downside is it's not true bypass. Great pedal, great value. This is a one-of-a-kind pedal that stands alone and what it does it does better than any of the other similar pedals it produces a razor edge
. This pedal is really phenomenal at producing a certain quality of sound. Combined with other devices it produces another range and character of sound possibilities it is an amazing pedal probably one of the best iconic effects pedals produced in the history of effects pedals. I love this pedal. I wish I had gotten one much sooner. I've been trying it in many different configurations on the pedal board and it excels in every position to alter the sound into something uniquely characteristic of this pedal.. This pedal is really phenomenal at producing a certain quality of sound. Combined with other devices it produces another range and character of sound possibilities it is an amazing pedal probably one of the best iconic effects pedals produced in the history of effects pedals. I love this pedal. I wish I had gotten one much sooner. Nice overdrive/distortion sound
Gives a nice overdrive/distortion sound. Use it when practicing on amp with low volume to get nice distorted sound without the having to crank the volume or use 2nd channel. Metal body is robust, rubber bottom prevents slippi,g. Foot switch gives a noticeable action compared to earlier Did fx boxes I have
