About this product

Product Information

A disappointing departure from the first two games in the Alex Kidd series, Alex Kidd: High-Tech World consists of two exploration levels and an action level, the latter of which is plagued by poor controls, tough jumps and cheap deaths. The two more adventurous levels require interacting with people and items to solve puzzles (some of which seemingly have random solutions), such as finding map pieces, answering trivia questions or acquiring a pass to an arcade. Despite the fact that the manual says "survive all the obstacles and you'll play in the hottest arcade in the land," the game ends once you reach this area. Adding to the disappointment are average (though colorful) graphics and repetitive music.

This is not a game. It does not qualify. Okay, first, the story is stupid. There's a new arcade that opened and you have to get there, but how do you get there? The map got torn into 8 pieces. Well, since it's a high-tech world, I'd Mapquest it, but no. You have to find the 8 pieces. This involves going into every room and pressing up on each object in the background to find them. Now, it won't take you long to get stuck. There are like 4 rooms you can go in and 1 piece to find. But now where do you go? There's a set of stairs and I wanted to go up, but didn't know how. I tried pressing up, down, 1 and 2. Nothing worked, so I went to the manual. It's up, but you have to be standing in the perfect spot. Why can't I push up at the stairs and it walk up them? Why is it so specific? There ...

  • Classic

Sometimes the classics are more fun to play than the modern video games!!! The classics are there to bring the player back to the basics, so the modern games will be easier to play and understand!!!
