About this product

Product Information

Echoing Francis Ford Coppola's APOCALYPSE NOW, William Friedkin's THE HUNTED opens with a close-up of the protagonist, Aaron Hallam (Benicio Del Toro), a Special Ops soldier who is witnessing atrocities in Kosovo. His battle stress soon turns him into a killing machine, as he murders hunters in the Oregon woods. Meanwhile, L.T. Bonham (Tommy Lee Jones) is living a solitary existence in the Pacific Northwest, rescuing wolves and living off the land. The Feds lure Bonham out of retirement, since he was responsible for training Hallam--and might be the only person alive who can stop him.Combining elements of RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD, in which Richard Crenna played the only man who could stop the battle-fatigued Sylvester Stallone, with THE PARK IS MINE, in which Jones played a Vietnam veteran who took over Central Park and booby-trapped it, THE HUNTED is an exciting chase film that is infused with a compelling streak of humanity amid all the blood and gore. Del Toro and Jones are both excellent, conveying a father-and-son-like relationship that is filled with intrigue. Johnny Cash's talk-rendition of Bob Dylan's "Highway 61" opens and closes the film with gusto.

Wish it would've shipped in a bubble envelope instead of a paper one, but it arrived as described at a very low price, so I can't really complain. A+ Seller. Cheers!

    Tom Brown Tracker knofe

I bought the movie because I purchase the knife displayed in the movie. This movie was well written and exhilarating to the end. Casing was secure and movie quality excellent.

  • The Hunted T.L. Jones & Benicio Del Toro

Benicio is an assassin used by the military, trained early on in the film through flashbacks by Tommy Lee Jones. Benicio Del Toro, reminds you of the kid next door, who finally wigs out from all the brutality of war, and his job. Jones, is a naturalist, who can train in the art of killing but has never killed anyone. The Militaary send in specialists to track down Benicio who has run off into the woods. Through his expertise in jungle warfare the specialists slowly disappear, to no ones surprise. And finally Jones is called in to track him down. The fbi, takes credit for a job well done. And the military havew their man, whom they once again in handcuffs try to kill. The best acting and the best scenery ever to come out in a film. Watch the special bonus clips as it shows certain ...

  • Cheeseball film, ultimately - but not bad

In some ways, this is a cheeseball film. The main character is a ghost spec ops bad boy who can disappear at will and scythe through foes with a Tom Brown Tracker Knife. The Sayoc Kali knife fights make the film interesting, along with the semi-Biblical themes of Abraham sacrificing his son Isaac. The knife forging/chipping scene is dramatic, until you stop to think about the fact that the main character could have put about 50 miles between himself and his pursuers instead of whanging on a steel bar in the middle of the forest. There are aftertastes of the movie First Blood, which was the original "spec ops soldier against law enforcement" film.

  • It Kept My Attention

At no point in time does this movie get boring. From beging to end this movie is just non-stop. I have had this movie for a very long time now, and I just watched it again two weeks ago. This movie will never get old in my eyes. The only part of the movie I did not like was when he was having flash backs it is a important part of the storyline but its just not that exciting to me. If it wasn't for the "important flashback" issue hands down I would of gave this movie a five rating.

  • Good movie at a great price.

Loved adding this flick to my collection. The subject matter (Knife fighting) isn't one you see on a lot of movies.
