    New edition of "Diva" packs quite a punch !

    I saw this movie in a theater first, and I loved the interesting and oddball story and the portrayals by the actors. A favorite moment is the motor scooter chase in the subway. I had this movie on video tape later but when I bought the inferior DVD version by Fox-Lorber I was dissapointed in the poor quality of the transfer & wound up sending the DVD back to the seller. I was excited to see a Meridian Collection version of this personal favorite movie. This is a good transfer of the movie to DVD, and I am well satisfied with my purchase. It is so hard to find good foreign movies on TV these days ! Even Turner Classic Movies tends to show foreign movies at 2:00 am Sunday (Monday) night. I highly reccomend this DVD edition of "Diva" !

    Exceptional DVD .... Top Notch Story Line .... in Many Many aspects!

    Exceptional DVD, with a super story line, good solid actors, and a Grreeat ending, that truly earns 5 Stars for this unique DVD, besides the super singing and much more, this is a "rare" DVD that is Top Notch in many many aspects … excitement is consistent through out this DVD, it blows away many other DVDs … Highly Recommend to Buy!

    Inovating

    Music makes everything better. This 1981 movie was described as innovative with its use of music, both operatic and simple piano verse emphasize cinematic themes. The photographic use of colors; the blues, the gradation of shades are a brush to canvas. And Paris is Fantastic.

    Great Deal

    This is a classic movie that I saw many years ago and it stuck in my mind. When I pursued it, it was very expensive and I was disappointed. When I saw it here I had to try to get it. There are many elements to this movie that are outstanding and listening to the special features were indeed special. Great subtle and behind-the-scenes info. I highly suggest Diva.

    stands the test of time

    Exceptional. Not quite timeless but close to it. It seems odd to review something that anyone who would appreciate the the subject has likely seen already. If you haven't experienced Diva odds are you have seen derivative work that has more flash. As with anything it is a product of its time, yet it holds up surprisingly well. It is a thoughtful, soulful action film.
