    Excellent remote control

    The MX-990 is the best remote I have ever owned or used and the best of URC's Complete Control line. Excellent customization and a great design. My favorite remote. They are easy to program once you have learned how but for many this may be too difficult and would require hiring a programmer to do the job.

    Best remote on the market

    URC makes all kinds of programmable remotes and for IR remotes, this MX-990 is the best of the best. It is well thought out and well layed out as far as the hard button needs. The LCD screen has endless possibilities, with learning capabilities (as well as the entire remote) and macros, plus all kinds of labels, buttons, screens, sounds, channel banners etc. Turn as many things on or off at a time as you want, change inputs, channels whatever works with IR can work with this remote and be programmed to your specific liking. So that’s the great part. The not so great part is that it needs to be programmed with specific software licensed by URC and only given to their dealers, who charge a good chunk of change to program this particular remote.     Great remote if you have the programming software.

    The MX-990 is a great step up from my MX-950. If you are familiar with URC programming, it is relatively straightforward to program and I was able to migrate my setup after a fresh start. It is a very powerful device, but not worth its value unless you have the CCP software and can fine tune the setup as you work with the control.
