About this product

Product Information

This sequel to Team Soho's GTA3-style action-adventure returns players to a detailed re-creation of modern London, where they face more driving and shooting challenges in the city's gangland underworld. Unlike the original game, Black Monday has PS2 gamers taking the roles of three different playable characters, each with his or her own background, motivation, and perspective. By exploring the story from each character's point of view, players can begin to piece together the bigger picture.

The story is set about two years after the events of the original game. Those who played the original are sure to see some familiar friends and foes, but three new characters take center stage: The part-time bouncer Eddie O'Connor is more than a hired thug, though it may not seem so at first. The talented cop Ben Mitchell has a career marred by controversy. The computer hacker Sam seems to have a penchant for trouble, and may be a little too smart for her own good. As players move through the game's story, they take turns as each of these characters.

Like the original game, presentation was emphasized in the development of this sequel, which is designed to play out in a slick, cinematic style. The Getaway: Black Monday boasts a cast of over 20 actors whose performances were recorded and motion-captured to bring their in-game characters to life. Adjustments have also been made to improve the game engine and control scheme, for a more responsive feel both on foot and behind the wheel.

Too Dark + Hard To Control

You start at a 3 story motel told to go to a certain room to find drugs but you keep running into walls + doors that become hard to see. After each room that you cuff suspects you are told there are no drugs found. So down a bunch of stairs + you are outside but trapped there with no way to leave. This was so bad I removed it after 10+ minutes of dark confusing frustration.

  • Pretty good game but nothing special

The Getaway: Black Monday is a decent game that unfortunately has a lot of technical flaws that keep it from being a great experience. The story in the game's pretty good and the game is pretty fun to play, but it all comes of as seeming very normal and it gets boring after a while. It's a solid experience, but it's a pretty short game that doesn't last much past 5 hours and there really isn't any reason to play it again. I think that the first game in the series was much better with a better story and not nearly as many technical flaws. So if you want to play a game like this I would recommend the first and if you like the first one then you'll probably enjoy this one as well.

  • The Getaway

I received the game yesterday. I havent played it yet but I'm looking forward to it. The game had a significant amount of scratches but that's an easy fix. Thank you for the game.

  • I really liked it

I thought it was a great game. The one thing that bothered me was, they should have the same controls for the vehicles in both games. I got threw the first game and then Black Monday I used the circle button for them to get out of the car and instead I went in reverse. After awhile I caught on then everything was good. I think its a fun game because the action goes all the way through (GTA between missions allows you to do other things). I love all of GTAs games and now I found another game to love and I played it over and over.

  • This game is Awsome!!!!

This game has all the feature in grand theft auto but better . you chase criminal down in the car. Reality graphic you can actually run over people ans crash into thing in real life and you can also damage you car will doing it too. So don't wait get the game it's a good investment trust me .
