Inspired by the blockbuster action films starring Bruce Willis, Die Hard: Vendetta is a first-person shooter that takes place five years after the events in the film Die Hard With a Vengeance. Retired cop John McClane finds himself embroiled in yet another terrorist plot, only this time it involves his daughter, Officer Lucy McClane. <br><br>Players are thrust into a series of terrorist encounters they must resolve using either brains or brawn. Enemies can be disarmed, used as hostages, or neutralized during the course of play. Stealth tactics will be required in many situations as players navigate subways, enemy compounds, and office buildings in their quest for justice. Die Hard: Vendetta features a variety of weapons and gadgets, including assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, night vision goggles, and more.<br><br>Designed specifically for GameCube, the controls use a dual analog configuration, allowing players to move and aim independently of one another. McClane can also jump, climb, lean around corners, crouch, pull items, and even swing from ropes. Players may need to use some or all of these moves to overcome enemies who are designed to work together as a group. Alarms will be activated if someone sees or hears McClane, and enemies aren't afraid to duck or run for cover if the odds are against them.<br><br>A cinematic presentation is implemented through the use of bullet cams, where the camera follows the path of a bullet until it find its mark, and a slow-motion technique called "Hero Time." Similar to Max Payne's Bullet Time feature, players can increase their chances of survival against multiple enemies by slowing down the action. George Handel's "Messiah", which was featured in the first Die Hard film, plays during "Hero Time" for dramatic affect. Vendetta also includes character Al Powell, now a police chief, with voice work by the actor originally cast in the role, Reginald Vel Johnson.

    Die Hard Vedetta

    John McClane is back and is ready for action. This time his daughter who is part of the LAPD is kidnapped john takes it personal. This game is a fun game from start to end, its tough at times on some of the missions, mostly due to the controls being very loose for a FPS, but with practice you be making those sniper shot in no time. This game might feel like a relic compared to future FPS on older systems, but it's a classic in my book especially if your a die-hard fan like myself.

    New Wii system, plays GameCube games

    This is an intense game. It is very fast paced and utilizes alot of control functions. (I, being 54 yrs., am having a difficult time managing all of the necessary functions) This was bought as an addition to our game library for the kids & grandkids. The younger people will be able to manipulate the controls a whole lot better than I can. (They have alot more experience with the game controller) It is a shoot'em up game, so may not be appropriate for pre-teens or even early teens. It has great graphics and clarity. I'm certain after I fail a few more times (a hundred or so) that I'll get the hang of it and will enjoy it more. All-in-all though, if you like fast paced, shoot-em-ups with gore, then this is a game for you. Enjoy !

    A must-have for Die Hard fans

    + Faithfully follows and complements DH (Die Hard) conventions, story lines, characters + Actual or very similar voice actors. DH movie quality dialogue. +/- Helpful auto-aim feature. Makes it a little too easy, but perfect if youre playing it for the story or experience, rather than a challenge. + Excellent codes (see gamefaqs website for details) + Good, traditional FPS present-day weapons (Desert Eagle, Snubnose pistol, Glock, MP5/K, Sniper) - Dated graphics. - Controls are good for a console first-person-shooter; which never is that good. Compensated by autoaim. - Some objectives are confusing. - Would have loved more checkpoints, or a save anywhere. Dying or killing a civilian fails the mission and you have to start at last checkpoint, sometimes 5-10 minutes back.

    One Great First Person Shooter!

    This is definately one of my favorite games! It has some of the coolest graphics and is a blast to play. There are many different types of weapons and just as many types of bad guys to use them on. If you like games with a good story line to go along with the action, this is one you will like. I chose to buy this game because I am a fan of the movie trilogy and am not disappointed! It stars John McClain and his daughter Lucy. It centers around the son of his arch Nemesis Hans Gruber and the armed robbery of a local museum. Many of the characters from the movie appear in this game and make it even more fun to play. The game offers similar slow motion screen shots as some of the best games around. This is in my Top Favorite games list.
