Ladies and Gentleman, I give you the classic Special Series.
Back in the 1980's, the Tomb of Horrors was the dungeon of superlatives--the deadliest, the meanest, the coolest. It was considered essential, if not to run as a DM just to read and to add to your collection. The rest of the S series were classics in their own right, as well, and for gamers of a certain generation the "S" series adventures stand as a kind of universal shared experience. These have all been long out of print, and have become very difficult to find in high grade. It stands as a sort of tribute to how cool these were that the average condition is so poor. Taped, written on, falling apart. Because these things were that good and got used that much. For the veteran gamer, this will do a wonderful job of replacing the long-lost original copies. For the younger gamer, these adventures are a fountain of inspiration, a veritable 101 course on How It's Done. Wizards hardcover products have been of exceptional quality and this is no exception. With a bit of care, this book will last you a lifetime. The one issue I have is that the (classic!) cover art of these modules has not been reproduced in the book. These went through several printings and the S1 and S2 had at least two different cover images. There should have been a one page cover gallery, at the least. Perhaps WOTC can correct that with the next print run. With or without the cover artworks, however, this is an essential book for anyone interested in D&D and its history.

Great looking product for the price.
I bought this series of modules to keep my son and I busy playing D&D for a while. I have skimmed through all 4 modules and they seem quite difficult. The binding and paper quality is superior. Overall it is a lot cheaper to buy this book rather than buy all 4 modules individually. Really wish they could reprint other series (like Temple of elemental evil?)
