Living on Borrowed Time-Lennon's Last Interview
Two months before he was brutally murdered in front of his own home, John Lennon along with his wife Yoko Ono sat down for a series of interviews with Playboy magazine. During the interviews the couple were putting the finishing touches on what would become the last album Lennon put out during his life, Double Fantasy. As such, parts of the book give behind the scenes details of the making of the album (such as John hurriedly telling the engineer to start the tape when a gospel group began praying before the session and using that as an intro for the song "Hard Times are Over (for a while)" ) Reading it now for the first time, 30 years after he was taken from us, it really does feel as if it is the final testament of John Lennon and his life and times. In it he discusses things such as ... In it he discusses things such as (the normally taboo it seems) Beatles breakup and chances at reunion, reasons why charity concerts are bunk and most surprisingly makes Yoko into a likable person (which when it comes to books written about any of the former Beatles seems like an impossibility. If you have read the original Playboy interview published two days before his death you haven't read a quarter of the story. It truly is a must read for all Beatles and John Lennon fans who want to hear a little more from him.

A very informative book. It includes an extrordinary song by song analysis. Stories, photos, unpublished literature. John and Yoko are a very interested couple to read about. You will learn an awful lot by just reading this!
