About this product

Product Information

Known for both its difficulty and its wildly fun concept, 'Battletoads' is a cult-classic NES game perfect for any gamer’s collection. When the Dark Queen kidnaps Battletoad Pimple and the lovely princess, it is up to Battletoads Zitz and Rash to save them. In this arcade-style beat-’em-up, you fight Psyko Pigs, the Mutant Ratpack, Robo-Manus, and more in order to stop the queen and save your friends. Unlike the typical brawler game, your Battletoad can race space vehicles, propel into dangerous caverns, and navigate levels full of traps. With the two-player option, you and a friend can take on this challenging inter-galactic adventure.

    3 levels of replayable fun

While it is too hard, it's the best battletoads game out there. You cant get past level 3 but the levels and characters vary enough to make the game a worthy purchase. Play with game genie to skip to all the extra levels!

  • AAAAAAAAAAGH!

Anyone who has played this game before knows exactly what the title of this review is about. This game is a fun, one-or-two player brawler game, but is also one of the HARDEST GAMES TO EVER HAVE BEEN MADE. Battletoads is a brawler, similar to Double Dragon or The Ninja Turtles arcade titles. You punch and kick enemies to defeat them, fight larger-than-life bosses, and get frustrated when you die for the umpteenth time because you ran into one of those platforms in the hoverbike area of level 3. Having played this game myself, however, I can say with all honesty that it's not the game's fault. Sure, it's a difficult game, but the problem isn't in cheap deaths as much as it is in the player's own gaming skill. I may have sworn my head off while playing level 3, but I can get through ...

  • If you can beat this game, you can beat any NES game.

If you can beat this game, you can beat any NES game. This is the staple title of toughness in the Nintendo Entertainment System's library and nothing will get you more frustrated than the Turbo Tunnel at level 3. Once you get acquainted with the controls and enemy patterns, there isn't much you can blame other than yourself for not learning the strategy to victory. Battletoads isn't meant for the modern gamer, since it requires hard work, patience, effort, and the mentality of a honey badger. If you're the type that want's rewards for time spent, you're croaking up the wrong lily pad. You will need to do a lot more than practice to make perfect. You'll need to change game play like an amphibian changes it's environment and appearance using turbo scooters, ropes, machines, swimming, ...

  • Best game I have ever played!

This game is just amazing. After picking up a FC Twin(NES/SNES duel system) I thought: "what games can I get that I havent been able to play in years"? Seeing as a kid the choice of keeping my games werent a option with moving and such I was forced to sell my old games, but now I can get them back and what better game then Battletoads? I remember this game so well growing up. Sure its hard as hell now as it was when I was 2 years old(yes been gaming since then). This game was beautifully done by a company called RARE which was known for great games. Yes it was produced by tradewest but RARE did the actual work on it. Just things bout this game set it off so well from other action/adventure beat em up style games For one you were a Toad(either Rash if you were hooked in port one or Zitz ...

  • Fun, hard to play game, I had lots of fun playing it, try avoiding 2 player

I bought this product with high expectations of a challenging, and fun to play game. I got what I wanted. It's just so challenging I can't get past the third level (and from what I hear, not many people can!). I had known about the infamous hover bike level in this game, that's part of the reason I bought it. I love the idea of the game, as cheesy as it is. You play as a battletoad (two, if you're playing 2 players) trying to save one of your friends who gets captured. I dislike the two player mode. A lot. It has friendly fire (which more than half the time, you don't mean to hit your friend), and on top of that, once your teammate dies, you both start at the beggining of the level. Ontop of that, the player who didn't die keeps the amount of lives he had when his friend died (so say you ...
