I had a question regarding the lightmeter, and they responded promptly- the next business day. Then I purchased the camera and they shipped it out the same day. The product arrived sooner than expected and was well-packaged. The physical condition of the camera is as pictured. I have yet to test the light meter functionality because I need to get a battery; however, everything appears to be in good shape. I 've bought from KEH Outlet before, and always had good service.

    Sharp images with unbelievable details

This lens can do micro macro photography great! If you have kit lenses and you are considering another lens, get this one over the 35 mm or the 50 mm. Hands down much better value. I am very pleased with the lens. If it had some vibration reduction as well, that would be great. Zoom in on the pictures. You can see the pollen and the details in the pistols. With a tripod and better lighting I could have captured more detail.

  • This is a fine, bargain-priced alternative for or addition to a "kit" lens.

The only reason for my not giving this lens a solid 5-star rating is the lack of f-stop settings, which was a given going in. Its use is therefor limited to the new bodies with settings done on the camera. Otherwise, it is a bright, extremely sharp lens at all apertures and distances, good for portrait and general use as well as 1:1 macro, with a bokeh far superior to what you get with your "kit" zoom lens. At its 60mm equivalent with DX format you can just leave it on and use your feet for zooming. Its light weight makes it easy to carry all day, too.

  • Opens up a whole new world

My first experience with macro photography and am having a lot of fun exploring my backyard. images are very sharp, but with that comes a very small focal range which can be challenging. I often find myself bumping into subject with lens. I guess I will be looking to add a longer lens so I don't have to get that close. Maybe 105mm macro.

  • A very good macro lens on a Nikon 1 system camera

Although not the best focal length for a macro lens (it puts the front of the lens very close to the subject) on a DX body, it works very well on a Nikon 1 system body such as the V2 via the Nikon FT1 adapter. The small size and weight of this lens are a decent match for Nikon's discontinued mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras built around the 1" sensor.

  • Nice but 1:1requires getting too close in.

Nice lens, sharp images, but for macro work you really need a longer focal length, Nikon's 105mm micro or Tokina's 100mm macro probably a better choice for macro photography.
