Our son's teacher really loves birds. When I found out she didn't have this, I knew what we had to do for Christmas. We got one years ago on clearance. The cost seems like a lot unless you've seen this book. It's heavy and large and has so many pages. The pictures are amazing and the maps are helpful. The information is interesting, and of course, the sounds are what makes this book! It arrived nicely packaged and ready to give. Thank you! She really loved it.Our son's teacher really loves birds. Excellent reference book with poor quality audio player.
This is a fairly large and heavy book, not meant to be carried in the field. The illustrations are accurate and the accounts contain enough useful information for the casual watcher to help locate and identify birds. The player has good sound quality and volume. The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) stopped working within the first few minutes of use, so finding the right song can be challenging. Except for the LCD, I am well pleased with this book. I think the Bird Songs Bible is a must-have for every bird watcher's arsenal.This is a fairly large and heavy book, not meant to be carried in the field. The illustrations are accurate and the accounts contain enough useful information for the casual watcher to help locate and identify birds. The player has good sound quality and volume.
