Great movie but from watching it I swear it was a bootleg. Looked to be original and everything but the actual film was super wavey, shakey and odd issues that I usually see with bootlegs. Idk maybe it was just my copy

I am a huge fan of the anime series Initial D, so when I saw this movie was available for sale in the US, I bought it. I wasn't expecting any huge blockbuster budget or Oscar-worthy acting... Thankfully. The movie is fairly entertaining, and for someone that knows nothing about the anime series, may be adequate. However, if you know the series, then you immediately notice how much of the storyline is left out or wrong. First off, there are several missing characters, mainly Kenji and Itsuki - the movie rolls them into one single annoying character. Others are missing as well. Bunta is prtrayed as a slobbering drunk and abusive father. Mogi is portrayed more as the morally inept teen love interest of Takumi. Many of the battles that Takumi fights in the anime are missing, and those ... I am a huge fan of the anime series Initial D, so when I saw this movie was available for sale in the US, I bought it. I'm hoping that it angered some real fans and gets remade with more accuracy... And a little more believability...

Not so bad
When I received the movie, I though it would be a masterpiece. In fact, I was kinda deceived by the translation, but the car parts were awesome. I've managed to find it in french and the way the characters speak is better than in English. If you speak french, please get the french version it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Not a bad movie, if you love drift, you'll get what you payed for : burn tires and nice cars!When I received the movie, I though it would be a masterpiece. Okay aside from Ryusuke having my dream vehicle this movie was okay...hardcore fans of Initial D manga and anime will be disappointed. But I think the casting for this movie was very well thought out. I was a little weirded out by Shawn Yue having a mustache but it all worked out...He still manages to look hot!!! So for the girls its definite eye candy and for the guys hot wheels...Something for everybody.Okay aside from Ryusuke having my dream vehicle this movie was okay...hardcore fans of Initial D manga and anime will be disappointed. awseome movie
fantastic movie, if you love the anime you will really enjoy the movie. also it has alot of nice cars including the rare AE 86. Movie has intresting cast members and awesome race scenes. a must buy for any fan!
