In roles made famous by their famed SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE skit, Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi star as Ellwood and Jake Blues in this extremely entertaining and successful comedy. Upon Jake's release from prison, the brothers are reunited and visit the orphanage they grew up in--only to discover that it is in danger of being shut down by the county for failure to pay taxes. With a little help from James Brown as a revival preacher, the Blues Brothers are divinely inspired to raise the $5,000 that the orphanage needs to stay open. On their mission from God, they must reunite their old band and raise the money by playing various gigs around town. The wild adventures of the band include dodging evil neo-Nazis, playing in a rowdy redneck bar, and narrowly escaping the crazed Carrie Fisher as Jake's ex-fiancée, who is out to see him dead. Finally, the boys have to get to a gig at the Palace Hotel Ballroom and deliver the $5,000 to the county assessor's office--leading to one of the most wild and hysterical car-chase smash-ups in film history. John Landis has spiced this wonderful romp with fabulous rhythm-and-blues numbers from such greats as Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Cab Calloway, and Ray Charles.

    A Fantastic Classic - The Blues Brothers Movie

    All these years, I thought I had seen The Blues Brothers movie. We started to talk about it one evening, wanted to watch it, thought we had it, but it was missing. Since we had talked about it, I wanted to watch it. I went to eBay, found it ASAP, had it within a couple of days and watched it that night. I found out that I HAD NOT SEEN IT! Sure, I had seen a few of the scenes, but OH MY GOD! What a great movie. The music is fantastic, the acting even better and the chase and crash scenes are great! Not to mention the comedy! No wonder this movie is such a classic with the actors Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi at their best. No complaints here. If you haven't seen this movie - get it!

    The Blues Brothers is a film I can see and never leave my seat!

    Great entertainment. I had not seen the film in years and it was great seeing it once again, no to mention that it is now part of my film collection. Still has he same kick it had back when I first saw it but now I realized how much these to indivuals gave to make it a true classic. Great team!~

    Blues Brothers (DVD,2005, 25th Anniversary Edition)

    This is an excellent DVD,if you like Belushi and Akroyd, it is done in high quality v.ideo. It is full screen and is even brighter than the original. I bought it because my old copy wasn't as good as this one. I would recommend it to anyone who remembers the old SNL cast, and who really appreciates some real kicking music.

    its the blues brothers you can't go wrong..........its the absolute best blues sound of its type. no its not BB or billie holiday its the blues brother . if you have to depend on reading this garbage to help you decide to buy this tune, get a life. you need to check into a psych ward and listen to gnarls barkley for a spell. its the blues brother. if beluschi were alive he'ld kick your butt. enjoy.
