  • The G man

Where to start? The version of do You read me (77) here is better than the record, shin kicker (79) is a rousing performance, too much alcohol (79), is but one example of rorys legendary showmanship. From 85 is a great heavy version of moonchild and a better version of philby than on the record, As well as the hilarious bankers blues, a song about some guys wife divorcing him and cleaning him out. Disc 2 concentrates on the blusier side of rory, highlights include continental op, I wonder who, a heavier version of ghost blues than on the recors, check out the intro to tatooed lady its like shaft with heavy guatars, pretty cool. Off the handle is great, I previously had a cd version of some of these amaxing live tracks, now its amazing to not only hear but to see how this long haired ...

  • Gallagher was the Strat Prince

( I am only able to review the 1994 concert footage since my dvd pack only had one disc and the second was missing.) The '94 concert at Montreux occured 4 years before Rory's untimely death. His well worn and tried Fender Strat sang of blues & rock as well as it did 30 years earlier. The guitar fit him like a glove, still. The camera work and sound track is top notch and catches Rory's shining guitar phrasing & singing as never before. If you are a blues rock fan...you must place Rory up there with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck,Buddy Guy, Jimmy Page, Steve vai, and Joe Satriani....among the others. Get this dvd , crank up ...

  • An amazing DVD, an amazing musician

I found the DVD originally at the Public Library. I was so impressed that I immediately hopped on ebay. Not only was Member id jjcrom an excellent seller to deal with but it is great to have this in my own collection so quickly. The first disk is mostly electric sets, with a couple of acoustic songs. It shows sets from 1975 through 1984, which gives a nice chronology of of Rory's career. From a full band to his power trio, all his raw energy shines through. The second disk has "B" list video but the performances are stellar! If you listen to or play blues based rock, this is a Must-Have DVD, and an artist that you HAVE to have in your collection!!!

  • Long Live to Rory Gallagher

I can´t find words to say exactly what is this DVD. Montreux Festival 1975-1994, Rory Gallagher was and is one of the best guitar in blues and rock. A lot of feeling, a lot of rock, a lot of blues. From 1975 to 1994, Rory Gallagher show us his inspiration, his virtuosity, his feeling ... This is the best DVD from Montreux series. You can buy it with your eyes closed, when you have this DVD in your hands open your eyes, open your ears and open your heart and you´ll find the meaning of my words. LONG LIVE RORY GALLAGHER!!!!!!!!!!

  • Finally........Rory at his best

This DVD finally puts out what people have been collecting on bootleg for years. Its about time Rory gets the full treatment. He is one of the finest Rock/Blues guitarists of the 70's. No frills unpretentious, down to earth, he is the original working mans hero...way before Bruce Springsteen. A fine collection at a reasonable price. This guy was great...too bad he died
