Following in the giant mecha footprints of Omega Force and Bandai's original 2007 animé and game series crossover, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is a third-person hack-and-slash combat game in the well-refined Dynasty Warriors style, and features characters and settings from five Universal Century-era Mobile Suit Gundam animé series. From a medium-range behind-the-back perspective, players face mob after mob of enemies to defeat by using heavy melee attacks and few ranged weapons. Characters and mechs have different strengths, although all are powerful against most regular enemies. Players can choose their pilot and suit separately, allowing them to mix and match favorites from the various television series, or to fine-tune overall fighting stats for their preferred styles of play.<br><br>As in the original Dynasty Warriors: Gundam game, the main "Official" mode of play leads players through a set of semi-scripted missions along developing storylines. Other modes of play allow players to develop friendships and rivalries among various characters, and to unlock fantasy match-ups between characters and mobile suits from different Gundam timelines and series. At least 60 Mobile Suits from the Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, and Char's Counterattack storylines can be unlocked for play, more than tripling the original game's 19. With a 2009 release Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 returns to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and debuts on PlayStation 2, in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the mighty Gundam franchise.

I grew up with the PS2 version but after tracking down the 360 version I say go for the 360 the graphics are so much better and looks awesome

I purchased this item as gift for somebody It was a great deal I paid less Than Thirty dollars for it which is half the price you can get it in our area. This game is great if you have or know of a fan of the Gundam Universe,because it has most of the stories of all the Gundam Anime series. The graphics are great. The voice actors are mostly the ones from the series, with a few exceptions. The game play is much better than the first game in the series, and is more like samurai warriors than dynasty warriors. However it is missing some main characters and their suits, for example only 2 from Gundam Wing Are there and for use Heero and Zechs.Also From Gundam Seed Three Kira,Shien, and Athren. One other problem it is almost impossible to get all licenses for all characters, and also ... Best Game Ever! ... (imo)
This is quite possibly the best and longest game I have ever played. There is so many missions to play through and unlocking every character takes a while to accomplish. I am 70+ hours in the game and I have yet to unlock ever character. You can also use all the minor mobile suits like the Zaku 2, Gouf Flight Type, Barzam, and Neo-Zeon's Bawoo. The level cap has been raised from 30 to level 50 in this game for the characters, which I might add, there are around 50 once unlocked and from nearly every series in the franchise. Gameplay is typical Dynasty Warriors style, but it is a very good game. One of my favorites about this game is that characters from different series interact with each other in different ways that you wouldnt see in the series. I highly recommend this game to ... This game is much like the rest of the dynasty warrior’s games. It is much better then the first one but is still lacking on the choice of new gundams. There are lots of different types of Gundams to choose from ranging from the Freedom, Destiny, Justice, and Wing Zero to MK11, Burning Gundam and even the Ball Type. Official mode is set up like any other dynasty warrior’s game but mission mode is completely different. In order to use different gundams one must obtain enough parts for the desired mech. As well as maintaining friendship with other characters. It is easy to make enemies since the game allows you to kill almost everyone. I think this is a good game to buy.
