Excellent Center driveshaft upgrade from the stock design!!!!A++++++++
This Center driveshaft is a must-have if running 3s. This drive shaft was my last upgrade on the drive line after the extra heavy-duty slipper clutch kit with metal pads and MIP heavy duty drive shafts. If you purchase this drive shaft it would be well worth your time to watch a few videos on YouTube Orr Reed some forms concerning sealing up the hole in the front of the chassis where the drive shaft comes out to connect to the front differential. This hole is a absolute disaster when driving off road in sand dirt and most importantly small rocks!!!! It is vitally important to keep your drive shaft area clean so the debris does not get caught in between your spur gear and pinion gear towards the rear of the vehicle and eventually make its way into the rear differential itself. There are ... This Center driveshaft is a must-have if running 3s. I consider this a must have upgrade!
Tekno is well known in the RC world, and for good reason - They produce very high quality products. The center driveshaft for the Slash/Rally 4x4 is prone to bending , and while a wobbly driveshaft might not bother some, I like to keep my stuff in good condition. Also, a bent driveshaft will wear out bearings and other associated parts faster (diffs, spur gear). The Tekno big bone center driveshaft alleviates one of the weak points of the Slash. It is strong, remains lightweight, and is not prone to bending like the stock driveshaft. Whether you are a basher, club racer, or somewhere in between, the Tekno big bone driveshaft is a great upgrade. Buy it. Grub screw issue is not an issue, please read full review and buy with confidence!!!
This is worlds better than anything else, I have had my grub screw come loose. The issue is the grub screw itself. Tekno use very high quality components and hardware.The grub screw is no exception, it is treated with a black oxide coating or something similar which can often leave anoily residue rendering loctite useless. Clean the out drives and hardware with contact brake cleaner thoroughly first, then apply loctite and torque down by hand, let sit overnight and you will not have this problem. Overall, this is an outstanding product and I recommend it to anyone that has a slash 4x4!!!This is worlds better than anything else, I have had my grub screw come loose. The issue is the grub screw itself. I am about to throw this thing in the river!!! Only one issue.... but it's a deal breaker. The fn grub screw on the rear cup will not stay put and it will absolutely chew the shaft straight up. Im on my third shaft due to damage received from the grub screw loosening. Traxxas has a keyed drive so if that grub screw does back out it won't spin freely and chew the shaft up. If that one rear cup had a flat spot in place instead of a completely round hole, with only the grub screw taking all the twisting from lipo power, it would be completely bulletproof!! Please tekno, help me and many others and fix this design flaw. Im outta shafts!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. i have used lock-tight.I am about to throw this thing in the river!!! Very excellent and simple design
It's a very excellent and simple component design. the new drive shaft fits in nicely. And the component perform very well at first the RC vehicle ran very loud because of its new drive shaft but otherwise it's a very well built component. And I would recommend it.
