  • Tough, sometimes frustrating, but Fun

I was introduced to Quest of Ki through a really great episode of Game Center CX (released on DVD in the US as Retro Game Master). Wanting to try the game myself, and not wanting to diminish the experience through emulation, I decided to purchase it for the Famicom. It is such a great game. It's one of those games that are "NES Hard", meaning the game is extremely challenging, but when you die, it's not a cheap death due to unfair AI or some such nonsense, it's because you need to "get good" as the kids say. I would highly recommend picking up this game, or at least, trying it out through emulation.
