Vestal I Wouldn’t Take Nothing for my Journey Now

I love this book. I read the entire book, 290 pages in 2 days. It’s a book that I will continue to read over and over. I knew a lot about Vestal before reading her book but I learned so much more about herald her family. She and Howard complimented one another when they sang from the very beginning when she joined The Happy Goodman’s. Her voice was so powerful. I just wish there was a book about Howard. Watching the Gaither videos when they performed together, it was so obvious they loved each other deeply, you could see that love when they looked at one another. I’m searching for her two cookbooks in hardcover. I never like paperback books, too hard to read. If you’re considering buying this book, spend the extra money and get the hardcover of it’s available. God Bless You ...

  • Great Book!! I Can Now Say, "I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now."

I have been a fan of southern gospel music since I was 14, I bought their music from that time until now. I read this book when Vestal Goodman, matriarch of the Happy Goodman Family when it was first issued in the late 90s. I have been going through an illness for almost a year, I have been in and out of the hospital 5 times in 6 months, and every time they end up more and more confused. They say I am an enigma. That said, over the past few months, I needed inspiration in my life. I found this book, Vestal! her family's most popular song was "I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now!" Like I said, I have followed this family for most of my life. I am a very youthful 56 years old, and still looking at this wonderful family for inspiration. When I decided to search for ...

  • Vestal’s book

If you like Vestal Goodman, read her book and you will love her. If you love Vestal Goodman, read her book and you will love her even more. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was devout in her beliefs. I believe she walked the walk as well as talk the talk. I don’t believe I have ever known of anyone to have a faith greater than Vestal Goodman.
