    THE SOLID STATE DESIGN MANUAL FROM THE ARRL IS EXCELLENT.

    This manual contains all the comprehensive circuits and designs for Radio Amateurs. All use ready to obtain parts for practical, useful applications. Have built many of these circuits and they work flawlessly. Highly recommended.

    Solid State Design for the Radio Amateur

    This seminal publication by Wes Hayward W7ZOI and Doug DeMaw W1FB is no longer in print, but remains an excellent source of information, theory and practical, emperical knowlege of solid state electronics as used by today's Amateur Radio enthusiast. Very little of the material is out-of-date. Circuitry examples are clear, functional and well-explained, enabling the home-brew ham to build on sound principles and practices.
