Perhaps the greatest and most imaginative book of any type. Yes, that is a bold statement but those of us who read it young still say the author knew far more than most people suspect. There is a certain common sense to this book. It weaves our history together with future history, politics, philosophy and religion. What the book does best is to help us to see that part that is in all of us but is often forgotten as we get older, that part of us that sleeps and seldom wakens. If you understand what that is you will love Dune, if you don't you may not make it to the end.
