    Tough beauty

    This is a tough high quality reel. I like the looks and feel of the handle. The frame does not flex because it is made of all aluminum. The drag is impressive for a reel this size too. The all brass gears and sealed system should give me many years of good service. I liked it so well that I bought another one.

    Meh

    So i recently purchased this and have taken it to the beach 3 times. I casted 1/2 oz to 1 1/2 oz lures. At first everything was smooth, then i started to reel in the heavier lures in 1oz and up, and felt a constant light clunking that wasn't there before. Buyer beware...

    Slammed them on the Slammer

    Used the Penn Slammer 3 last night after the handle broke on my Shimano reel and this smaller work horse kept right up and handled striped bass and blue fish up to 35”. I am sure it can handle larger, just none around. Smooth reeling action and casts great. Will buy again

    Best reel for the money

    I was skeptical this was worth the money. I have used the penn fierce 2, battle 2, and recently the spinnfisher vi. The slammer is clearly worth the extra money, particularly the handle. You may think it looks goofy but I wish I had the handle on all reels. When you compare a $100 reel to a $300 over 5-10 years of use youre talking about cents per use. Buy this and smile everytime you go fishing
